About AI Training Work
AI training is the human side of building artificial intelligence. Expert contributors create examples, evaluate model outputs, and define what accurate, useful, and safe responses should look like.
In this role, your medical judgment will help assess whether AI-generated clinical content demonstrates sound diagnostic reasoning, appropriate treatment planning, accurate guideline interpretation, and effective clinical risk management.
The Role
OpenTrain is seeking a Physician and Surgeon AI Task Expert to create and evaluate complex clinical tasks for medical AI model training. You will work with high-difficulty medical content involving patient histories, laboratory results, imaging reports, symptoms, and treatment pathways.
The work includes developing technically accurate scenarios and gold-standard solutions that test diagnostic reasoning, multi-system treatment planning, medical guideline interpretation, clinical safety, nursing care, and care coordination. This is a remote, part-time contractor opportunity requiring 20 or more hours per week.
Employment type: Contractor and part-time

The role requires independent quality ownership, careful calibration, and the ability to refine task designs based on feedback and milestone deadlines.
Create clinical scenarios, patient charts, nursing interventions, interdisciplinary handoffs, and related medical assessments.
Develop gold-standard solutions covering nursing care, clinical assessment, triage, care planning, patient education, and care coordination.
Review diagnostic hypotheses and treatment pathways using complex clinical information.
Apply rubrics and grading frameworks to evaluate accuracy, practicality, technical precision, patient safety, and adherence to current clinical guidelines.
Synthesize patient histories, laboratory results, imaging reports, and symptoms into accurate clinical judgments.
Incorporate calibration feedback and refine task designs to meet quality benchmarks.
