Why AI Training Work Matters
AI training (data labeling/annotation and human feedback) is the human side of building intelligent systems: people create, evaluate, and refine the examples models learn from. This work is one of the fastest-growing ways to work in tech and directly influences how helpful and accurate AI becomes.
Many projects are fully remote and flexible, making them a great fit for experienced professionals who want meaningful part-time work while using their domain expertise to improve model outputs.
The Role
OpenTrain AI is recruiting a Personal Finance Evaluator to review AI-generated documents, spreadsheets, and slide decks focused on personal finance and consumer planning. This is an expert, remote hourly engagement for reviewers who apply professional judgment to assess accuracy, rigor, presentation, and overall domain quality.
You will use structured rubrics to rate outputs, identify factual or formatting errors, and provide concise written feedback explaining your grading decisions.
What You'll Do
Evaluate AI-generated work products against domain-specific quality rubrics and provide clear, actionable feedback.
Assess factual accuracy, financial reasoning, assumptions, and consumer-planning recommendations, plus presentation and aesthetic elements across documents, spreadsheets, and slides.
Review documents, spreadsheets, and slide decks for factual, presentation, and formatting issues.
Assign structured evaluation ratings and write concise explanations for each score.
Flag errors in calculations, incorrect assumptions, unclear recommendations, or poor visual presentation.
Apply careful, domain-specific judgment to determine whether outputs are accurate, useful, and professionally presented.
Requirements
This is an expert-level reviewer role: preserve all required qualifications when applying.
Candidates must meet the listed skills and experience to be considered.
5+ years of relevant professional experience in personal finance or consumer planning.
Native or professional fluency in English.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, especially Google Slides or PowerPoint.
Experience evaluating AI-generated documents, spreadsheets, or slide decks and applying quality rubrics.
Ability to identify factual, presentation, and formatting issues and explain grading decisions concisely.
Helpful Background
Advanced degrees (master's or higher) and prior experience in financial planning, advisory, or consumer-facing finance roles are advantageous but not required if you meet the experience threshold.
Prior exposure to reviewing or auditing financial materials, building client-ready slide decks, or creating consumer planning spreadsheets will help you move faster in the role.
