OpenTrain is the #1 platform for finding and building careers in AI training and data labeling. We connect people with paid AI-training work, help contributors build unified portfolios, and support long-term freelance careers in this fast-growing field.
OpenTrain AI is the hiring and contracting organization for this study. We focus on clear, respectful projects that let experienced workers shape how AI systems understand real-world jobs.
Why AI training matters
AI systems learn from human examples. Tasks like surveys, interviews, and annotated descriptions help teach models how occupations are done in the real world — and contributors play a direct role shaping those systems.
Work in AI training is often remote and flexible, accessible to people with domain knowledge rather than technical credentials, and a concrete way to earn while influencing how tools describe and support your profession.
The role — Personal Care Aide Occupation Study
This study collects firsthand occupational input from experienced personal care aides to improve O*NET-style labor descriptions. The core task is a one-time online survey or interview (up to 30 minutes) about day-to-day duties, routines, and work settings.
Selected participants may be offered a separate, paid follow-up survey, task, or short interview. OpenTrain AI is contracting this work; the project is classified as data collection and text work.
What you'll do
Share detailed experience with personal care duties such as feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, ambulation, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and laundry.
Describe typical work settings (home, workplace, community, or daytime nonresidential facilities) and daily routines.
Complete a one-time online survey or interview that takes up to 30 minutes.
Participate in a possible follow-up survey, task, or short interview if selected (paid separately).
Requirements
Minimum 4+ years of direct experience working specifically as a personal care aide.
Currently working as a personal care aide or worked in the role within the last 12 months.
Firsthand knowledge of daily care tasks and the settings where they are performed.
Ability to speak from day-to-day experience rather than adjacent caregiving roles.
U.S.-based eligibility and ability to work as an independent contractor.
English fluency required.
Compensation, schedule, and employment type
Pay: $17.00 USD per hour (PAY_PER_HOUR). OpenTrain AI pays hourly for the tasks in this study; follow-up tasks or interviews will be paid separately when offered.
