The role — Personal Care Aide Occupation Study

This study collects firsthand occupational input from experienced personal care aides to improve O*NET-style labor descriptions. The core task is a one-time online survey or interview (up to 30 minutes) about day-to-day duties, routines, and work settings.

Selected participants may be offered a separate, paid follow-up survey, task, or short interview. OpenTrain AI is contracting this work; the project is classified as data collection and text work.

What you'll do

• Share detailed experience with personal care duties such as feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, ambulation, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and laundry.
• Describe typical work settings (home, workplace, community, or daytime nonresidential facilities) and daily routines.
• Complete a one-time online survey or interview that takes up to 30 minutes.
• Participate in a possible follow-up survey, task, or short interview if selected (paid separately).

Requirements

• Minimum 4+ years of direct experience working specifically as a personal care aide.
• Currently working as a personal care aide or worked in the role within the last 12 months.
• Firsthand knowledge of daily care tasks and the settings where they are performed.
• Ability to speak from day-to-day experience rather than adjacent caregiving roles.
• U.S.-based eligibility and ability to work as an independent contractor.
• English fluency required.

Compensation, schedule, and employment type

Pay: $17.00 USD per hour (PAY_PER_HOUR). OpenTrain AI pays hourly for the tasks in this study; follow-up tasks or interviews will be paid separately when offered.

Time commitment: the primary study task is a one-time survey or interview that takes up to 30 minutes. The posting lists a time requirement of 20+ hours/week as the role classification; however, the advertised core activity is a one-time session with possible short follow-ups. Employment types: contractor, part-time.
