The Role

OpenTrain AI is recruiting a Payer & Market Access Drug Review Expert for a paid pilot supporting a biotech and pharma research team. You will analyze commercial drugs and drug-development programs, create and critique evaluation rubrics, and pressure-test assumptions about pricing, coverage, rebates, and formulary placement.

This is a remote, US-based contractor engagement with the potential for recurring work. The pilot is expected to require approximately 10–20 hours over a one- to two-week period, with a default commitment of 15 hours per week.

• Pay: $175–$200 per hour

What You'll Do

You will apply practical payer and market access knowledge across the pilot's set of drugs and drug classes. Your work will involve developing evaluation criteria and determining whether assumptions are commercially realistic.

• Create and critique rubrics for analyzing commercial drugs and drug-development programs
• Set and pressure-test gross-to-net assumptions by drug class
• Set and pressure-test formulary-tier assumptions by drug class
• Evaluate whether coverage assumptions reflect how payers actually behave
• Assess whether rebating and tiering assumptions are realistic
• Apply your analysis across the pilot's specified drugs and drug classes

Required Qualifications

This role requires hands-on experience in US payer or market access environments. You should be able to assess drug coverage, rebates, gross-to-net dynamics, and formulary tiering based on real payer behavior rather than purely theoretical assumptions.

• US-based payer or market access professional
• 5+ years of experience in market access, pricing and reimbursement, or managed markets
• Hands-on experience with gross-to-net analysis by drug class
• Hands-on experience with rebates and formulary tiering by drug class
• Familiarity with biotech and pharmaceutical development programs
• Ability to judge whether coverage, rebating, and tiering assumptions reflect real payer behavior
