The Role

OpenTrain AI is recruiting a Payer and Market Access Drug Review Expert for a paid pilot with a biotech and pharma research team. You will create and critique rubrics for analyzing commercial drugs and drug-development programs, then pressure-test assumptions about payer behavior across the pilot's set of drugs and drug classes.

The engagement is expected to require approximately 10-20 hours over a one- to two-week pilot, with the potential for recurring engagement. The default commitment is 15 hours per week.

• Pay: $175-$200 per hour.
• Part-time engagement of less than 20 hours per week.

What You'll Do

You will evaluate whether drug access assumptions are commercially realistic and consistent with how payers operate. The work combines rubric development, structured critique, and expert review of drug and drug-development analyses.

• Create and critique rubrics for commercial drugs and drug-development programs.
• Set and pressure-test gross-to-net assumptions by drug class.
• Set and pressure-test formulary-tier assumptions by drug class.
• Judge whether coverage assumptions reflect real payer behavior.
• Evaluate whether rebating and tiering assumptions reflect actual payer practices.
• Apply your analysis across the pilot's set of drugs and drug classes.

Requirements

This role requires professional experience in US payer or market access work, along with hands-on knowledge of pharmaceutical pricing, reimbursement, rebates, and formulary tiering. The source requirements call for 5 or more years of experience in market access, pricing and reimbursement, or managed markets.

• Be based in the United States.
• Have 5 or more years of experience in market access, pricing and reimbursement, or managed markets.
• Have hands-on experience with gross-to-net and formulary tiering by drug class.
• Be familiar with biotech and pharmaceutical development programs.
• Be able to judge whether coverage, rebating, and tiering assumptions reflect real payer behavior.
• Work in English.
