What you'll do

• Listen to sung Oromo audio and transcribe melodies by ear with accurate pitch and rhythmic notation.
• Identify musical structure including key, tempo (BPM), and time signature.
• Transcribe sung Oromo lyrics precisely, preserving accents and meaning where possible.
• Apply careful listening judgment on unclear delivery, background noise, or accented singing to produce usable annotations.

Requirements

This role requires both musical transcription skill and strong Oromo language fluency. Applicants must demonstrate the ability to produce accurate musical and lyrical transcriptions remotely.

• Formal musical training or equivalent professional experience (musician, composer, transcriber, audio engineer, or music teacher).
• Proven ability to transcribe melody by ear with accurate pitch and rhythmic detail.
• Ability to recognize key, tempo, and time signature from recorded performance.
• Strong fluency in Oromo for sung lyric transcription and handling accented or unclear delivery.
