OpenTrain is the #1 platform for people building careers in AI training and data labeling. We connect skilled freelancers with specialized, remote projects that shape how modern AI systems learn—from transcription and annotation to feedback work—while helping contributors build a single portfolio they control.
For this role, OpenTrain AI is the hiring and contracting organization and manages selection, onboarding, and compensation.
Human transcription and careful annotation are essential to training generative music models and other audio AI systems. Your transcriptions teach models how melodies, rhythm, and language interact in sung performance—directly improving model quality.
This project sits at the intersection of music expertise and language skill: accurate melodic and rhythmic notation plus sensitive handling of Pashto lyrics help advance frontier generative-music research.
You will listen to short music recordings and produce precise melodic and lyrical transcriptions. The work is remote, part-time (under 20 hours/week), contractor-based, and begins with a paid pilot assignment that can expand for strong performers.
Work involves both musical notation (pitch, rhythm, key, tempo, time signature) and careful rendering of sung Pashto lyrics, including accented or less-clear delivery.
This role is labeled Intermediate: you should be comfortable working independently on audio transcription and sustaining quality in part-time remote work.
Experience with music transcription, audio analysis tasks, or prior annotation work is a plus but not required if you meet the musical and language requirements.
Compensation is hourly: USD $50–$70 per hour, paid to contractors. Typical engagement is part-time, under 20 hours per week, starting with a paid pilot that may lead to more work for high performers.
This is a contractor role; OpenTrain AI handles hiring and payment. The position is fully remote and open worldwide to qualified Pashto-fluent applicants.
