About OpenTrain

OpenTrain is the #1 platform for finding and building careers in AI training and data labeling. Contributors use OpenTrain to discover projects, build a unified portfolio, and grow a durable freelance career working on the human side of AI.

Creating an OpenTrain account is free. We connect language experts and reviewers with meaningful, remote work that directly shapes how modern AI systems behave.

About AI training work

AI training (data labeling, annotation, and human feedback) is the human side of building artificial intelligence. Contributors annotate, evaluate, and refine model outputs so models learn correct, safe, and culturally appropriate behavior.

This work is often 100% remote, flexible, and accessible: many projects need language proficiency, attention to detail, or domain knowledge rather than formal credentials. It’s a fast-growing, cutting-edge way to work with AI.

The role

OpenTrain is recruiting a Norwegian Quality Assurance Lead to evaluate Norwegian AI-generated content and trainer QA work across projects. You will assess outputs against project rubrics, write clear feedback, monitor consistency, and help keep contributors aligned as project needs evolve.

This is a remote contractor role for contributors based in Norway only. Time commitment is 20+ hours per week. Compensation is USD 60/hour. Work will focus on text tasks including evaluation ratings and text summarization.

  • Employment: Contractor, part-time
  • Time: 20+ hours/week
  • Pay: $60 USD per hour
  • Location: Norway (remote)
  • Languages: Norwegian (no) and English (en)

What you'll do

You will review model outputs and trainer QA work, communicate quality expectations, and help maintain project documentation and onboarding materials. Tasks combine hands-on annotation review with coordination and quality improvement duties.

  • Review Norwegian AI-generated content and trainer QA work for accuracy, fluency, grammar, spelling, tone, and cultural appropriateness.
  • Evaluate instruction-following, meaning preservation, formatting, and overall quality using project rubrics.
  • Provide clear written feedback and coaching to trainers, reviewers, and contributors.
  • Spot recurring quality issues and recommend process or guideline improvements.
  • Support onboarding, training calls, trackers, FAQs, style guides, and quality notes.
  • Communicate project updates, workflow changes, and quality expectations to remote contributors.
  • Help manage contributor activation and Norwegian-language quality workflows.

Requirements

You must meet the language and experience requirements below. We preserve all stated requirements from the role description; do not apply unless you meet the language proficiencies and can commit to the stated hours and payment model.

  • Native or near-native Norwegian proficiency with strong reading and writing skills.
  • Strong English communication skills for guidelines, feedback, and team coordination.
  • Experience in Norwegian writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training, education, or annotation.
  • Strong understanding of Norwegian grammar, spelling conventions, tone, register, and cultural context.
  • Comfort working with Bokmål and/or Nynorsk.
  • Experience leading or supporting remote teams of trainers, reviewers, editors, or QAs is preferred.

Who should apply

This role suits Norwegian-speaking editors, translators, localization specialists, QA leads, or experienced annotators who enjoy teaching and improving others’ work. Entry-level contributors with strong Norwegian and relevant experience can apply, especially if they have led or supported remote teams.

  • You enjoy giving constructive written feedback and improving quality processes.
  • You can work independently and communicate clearly across English-language project materials.
  • You are comfortable switching between detailed annotation work and higher-level coordination tasks.
