About OpenTrain and this opportunity

OpenTrain is the #1 platform for finding and building careers in AI training and data labeling. We connect contributors with steady, skill-building projects that directly shape how modern AI systems learn from human examples.

This role is an entry-level, long-term transcription contract that contributes speech data used to improve Korean-language AI. It’s remote work with a steady daily cadence and flexible hours.

  • Contract, part-time work focused on Korean speech transcription and audio review.
  • Work supports real AI training pipelines—your transcripts help models learn to understand and generate Korean accurately.

The role — what you’ll do

You will listen to short Korean recordings and produce clean, standardized transcripts that reflect exactly what was said. This is transcription (not translation or creative writing). Consistency and accuracy are more important than speed.

You will also perform simple listening-based verification and labeling tasks using the platform’s predefined options, such as flagging unclear or unusable audio and marking segments that can’t be confidently understood.

  • Transcribe short Korean audio clips into clean, standardized Korean text.
  • Apply platform tagging for unclear, unusable, or partially unintelligible segments.
  • Follow detailed guidelines and use platform conventions to mark issues when audio quality is imperfect.

Schedule, duration, and pay

This is a long-term, ongoing project that requires a steady commitment of approximately 1 hour per day, Monday–Friday, for 12+ months. You complete tasks at times that suit you each day, within the required daily cadence.

Pay is hourly at USD $14 per hour. Employment type is contractor / part-time, and total weekly hours are under 20.

  • Approx. 1 hour/day, Monday–Friday (long-term, 12+ months).
  • Flexible schedule — complete daily tasks at a convenient time.
  • Rate: $14 USD per hour (pay-per-hour contract).

Key requirements

All requirements below come from the project scope; candidates who cannot meet them should not apply. You will be asked to complete a short Korean transcription screening sample before starting.

You must be able to work using web-based tools and follow strict guidelines without improvising.

  • Currently located in South Korea — South Korea–based applicants only.
  • Native Korean speaker with native-level written accuracy.
  • Strong command of Korean spelling, spacing, punctuation, and standard writing conventions.
  • Comfortable applying strict guidelines and making careful listening judgments.
  • Able to handle imperfect audio and mark unclear sections using platform conventions.
  • Reliable internet, a computer suitable for web-based tools, quality headphones, and a quiet workspace.
  • Willing to complete a short Korean transcription screening sample prior to starting.

Preferred experience and skills

This is an entry-level role but some prior exposure helps. If you have transcription, captioning/subtitling, or speech data labeling/QA experience, mention it in your application.

The project values careful, consistent work over raw speed—attention to detail is the most important skill.

  • Prior transcription, captioning/subtitling, or speech-data labeling experience is preferred but not required.
  • Strong listening skills and the ability to distinguish minor mispronunciations from different words.

Who should apply

This project is a great fit for native Korean speakers in South Korea looking for reliable, part-time remote work with flexible hours and a steady daily routine.

It’s ideal for people who enjoy careful, rule-driven work: students, caregivers, or anyone seeking predictable, short daily tasks that build experience in AI training.

  • Native Korean speakers currently living in South Korea.
  • People seeking long-term, low-hours-per-day remote work.
  • Applicants who prefer accuracy and consistency over speed.
