Why AI training matters (and why music needs humans)
AI models learn from examples prepared and reviewed by people. In music and audio, experienced listeners shape how generative systems sing, arrange, and mix — your judgments directly influence model behavior.
This kind of work is often remote, flexible, and accessible: many projects accept contributors without prior AI experience but value domain expertise. For this role, your music-production and audio-engineering background is the key qualification.
The role: what you'll do
As a Music Audio AI Evaluation Expert (Indonesian) you will evaluate AI-generated music and lyrics, produce detailed annotations through a structured taxonomy, and rate samples head-to-head on multiple musical dimensions using audio-engineering terminology.
Evaluate AI model output: lyrics, voice generation, arrangement, and production quality.
Score training data quality for musical samples and lyrical content.
Rate pairs of AI-generated samples head-to-head on musicality, creativity, prompt adherence, vocal quality, and production/mix quality.
Annotate songs with genre/sub-genre, song structure, vocal and instrumental characteristics, and other taxonomy fields.
Responsibilities and deliverables
You will follow structured annotation guidelines and complete evaluation tasks that combine qualitative ratings and categorical classifications. Expect to work with short musical excerpts and lyric text, applying consistent audio-engineering vocabulary when describing mix and vocal attributes.
Complete evaluation_rating and classification tasks for audio samples.
Provide detailed, taxonomy-driven annotations (genre, structure, vocal/instrument traits).
Use audio-engineering terminology to describe mix balance, EQ, dynamics, spatial imaging, and vocal processing when relevant.
Produce repeatable, high-quality judgments that can be used to train and benchmark generative music models.
Requirements
This role requires demonstrated music production and music-theory expertise plus bilingual written fluency. All requirements below come from the project brief and are required to apply.
3+ years experience as a music producer, audio engineer, or sound mixer.
College degree in music covering performance, theory, and lyrics.
Past experience writing lyrical music in Indonesian.
Native or near-native proficiency in Indonesian and English.
Ability to rate AI-generated music samples using audio-engineering terminology.
Helpful: prior experience evaluating AI outputs or scoring training data quality.
