About AI Training Work in Music

AI training (also called data labeling or human feedback) is the human work that teaches models how to generate and judge content. In music, that means evaluating vocals, lyrics, composition, production quality, and how well a model follows a prompt or creative brief.

This role sits at the intersection of music production, audio engineering, and bilingual language work—your judgments and annotations directly influence how generative music systems sing, compose, and mix in Vietnamese.

• You will use structured taxonomies to label genre, structure, and vocal/instrumental features.
• Your audio-engineering judgments (mix, timbre, clarity) help the model learn production-level quality.

The Role

You will evaluate AI-generated music outputs and annotate training data in Vietnamese while following English-language directions. This is hands-on evaluation and classification work: listening, scoring, and tagging audio samples against clear rubrics and taxonomies.

OpenTrain hires this role as a remote contractor on a part-time basis with a minimum expected commitment of 20+ hours per week.

• Data type: Audio (music outputs and recorded training data).
• Label types: Evaluation ratings and classification (genre, structure, vocal/instrument traits).

• Languages required: Vietnamese (native/nearly native) and English (native/nearly native).
• Pay: USD $13.01–$23.43 per hour (posted hourly range).

What You'll Do

Daily tasks center on critical listening, structured annotation, and consistent scoring against project rubrics. Expect to work with short audio clips and full songs and to record ratings and tag metadata in the project interface.

• Evaluate AI-generated music for quality, creativity, and prompt adherence.
• Review and score lyrics, vocal generation, musical performance, and production/mix quality.
• Annotate songs for genre and sub-genre, song structure, and vocal or instrumental characteristics.
• Use audio-engineering terminology when comparing and describing samples.
• Follow written instructions in English and perform annotations in Vietnamese as required.

Requirements

Candidates must demonstrate expertise in music production, audio engineering, or sound mixing and have hands-on experience creating lyrical music in Vietnamese. Fluency in both Vietnamese and English is required to follow directions and document annotations.

This is an expert-level role: you must be comfortable making consistent, defensible quality judgments and applying structured taxonomies to musical material.

• Experience as a music producer, audio engineer, or sound mixer.
• Strong understanding of musical performance, music theory, and songwriting/lyrics.
• Past experience writing lyrical music in Vietnamese.
• Native or near-native proficiency in Vietnamese and English.
• Experience evaluating vocal performance, production mix, and overall music quality.
• Ability to annotate songs for genre, structure, and vocal/instrumental traits using provided taxonomies.
