The role

As a Motion Video Data Collection Specialist you will record synchronized smartphone videos while capturing IMU-based motion data during assigned physical movement tasks.

This is a part-time contractor position requiring 20+ hours per week. The role pays USD $10–$15 per hour and is open to candidates located in the United States who can communicate in English.

What you'll do

Follow detailed technical instructions to capture consistent, high-quality motion data that pairs video with IMU sensor streams.

Perform structured, repetitive movement tasks safely and accurately while recording, and report any issues that may affect data quality.

• Record synchronized smartphone videos during assigned physical movement tasks.
• Capture IMU-based motion data from your smartphone while following project protocols.
• Maintain video framing, timing, and movement consistency as specified.
• Communicate clearly about recording problems or data integrity concerns.

Requirements

You must have the equipment and physical ability to complete hands-free motion recordings and follow sensor-data collection instructions precisely.

Candidates must be able to work independently, follow technical guidance, and prioritize safety during repetitive movements.

• Compatible smartphone capable of recording video and capturing IMU sensor data.
• Head strap or equivalent hands-free setup for stable video capture.
• Ability to record clear smartphone video while performing structured physical movements.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions closely.
• Comfort with repetitive movement tasks and safe execution of physical activity.
• Relevant background in robotics, kinesiology, or movement analysis is a plus (not required).
