About OpenTrain

OpenTrain is the #1 platform for finding and building careers in AI training and data labeling. We help contributors consolidate proof-of-work, build a durable profile, and discover expert-level projects in one place.

For this role, OpenTrain is the hiring and contracting organization. We match qualified contributors with specialized data-collection work that feeds state-of-the-art medical AI systems.

  • One place to manage AI training opportunities and build a long-term portfolio
  • Flexible, remote work that supports part-time contracting arrangements

About AI training work

AI training is the human work that teaches models how to read, reason, and generate useful outputs. Contributors supply high-quality examples and expert review so medical AI systems learn from real, trustworthy materials.

Many projects are remote and flexible, making this a practical way to earn as you maintain clinical, research, or academic workstreams.

  • Work that directly shapes how medical AI systems behave
  • Accessible, flexible, and often part-time — fit work around your schedule

The role

OpenTrain is recruiting medical contributors to submit original, expert-authored medical documents for an AI training project focused on high-quality clinical materials.

You will provide documents you personally authored — case reports, clinical notes, research manuscripts, internal training guides, and multimodal materials (tables, charts, figures). All submissions must be professionally de-identified and accompanied by brief context when helpful.

  • Contractor, part-time role (20+ hours/week preferred)
  • Compensation: hourly pay ranging from $20 to $40 USD per hour
  • Worldwide applicants accepted; English-language materials required

What you'll do

This is a data-collection project: you will upload original documents from your professional portfolio and provide short contextual notes where needed. Accuracy, clarity, and careful de-identification are essential.

  • Submit original medical documents you personally authored (PDF or Word)
  • Include materials such as case reports, clinical documentation, manuscripts, training guides
  • Share multimodal content: text, tables, charts, diagrams, and figures
  • De-identify sensitive or personal information using professional judgment
  • Provide brief written context or clarification about the materials when helpful
  • Work remotely and manage your contractor schedule

Requirements

All requirements below come from the role description. Please do not apply unless you can meet these qualifications and provide original, English-language documents you authored.

  • Advanced training or credentials in medicine, healthcare, clinical research, or a closely related discipline
  • Experience authoring or compiling medical documentation, case reports, or technical reports
  • Solid understanding of patient confidentiality, ethical documentation practices, and data de-identification
  • Ability to communicate complex medical information clearly in writing and verbally
  • English-language portfolio materials available for submission in PDF or Word format
  • Availability for roughly 20+ hours per week (part-time contractor)

Helpful background

The following backgrounds make it easier to contribute immediately, though the core requirement is original authored materials and appropriate credentials.

  • Clinical practitioners and physicians with authored case reports or clinical notes
  • Researchers or academics who have written manuscripts, protocols, or technical guides
  • Clinical documentation specialists or medical writers familiar with de-identification best practices

How it works / How to apply

Create an OpenTrain profile, indicate your medical credentials, and upload samples of original English-language documents (PDF or Word). Submissions will be reviewed for authenticity, quality, and proper de-identification.

Selected contributors will be contracted as part-time remote contractors and may be asked to provide brief clarifications about submitted materials. Compensation is hourly within the posted range and contractors set their availability.

  • Sign up on OpenTrain and complete your contributor profile
  • Upload original documents and short context notes during application
  • Expect a review step focused on document authenticity and de-identification
