About AI training and this work

AI training (also called data labeling or human feedback work) is the human side of building modern AI systems. Contributors annotate, review, and rate text so models speak accurately, fluently, and appropriately for different languages and cultures.

This role focuses on Marathi-language quality assurance for text-based AI training: you will ensure Marathi outputs and contributor work meet project rubrics for accuracy, tone, grammar, and cultural appropriateness.

• Work is part-time, flexible, and remote — well suited to experienced language reviewers and editors.

The role — Marathi Quality Assurance Lead

You will lead Marathi-language QA across remote training projects: review AI-generated Marathi content and trainer or QA submissions for accuracy, fluency, grammar, spelling, tone, cultural appropriateness, meaning preservation, instruction-following, formatting, and rubric adherence.

You’ll produce precise written feedback, surface recurring issues, keep documentation up to date, support onboarding, and help improve quality workflows for Marathi-language work.

• Pay: USD $25 per hour.

What you'll do day-to-day

Your regular responsibilities combine hands-on review with coordination and documentation: evaluate content against project rubrics, write clear feedback, run onboarding sessions, and maintain style guidance and trackers so contributors stay aligned with quality expectations.

• Review Marathi AI outputs and trainer/QA submissions against guidelines and rubrics.
• Provide clear written feedback on accuracy, fluency, tone, grammar, spelling, formatting, and meaning preservation.
• Communicate project updates and quality expectations to trainers and QAs.
• Maintain style guides, FAQs, trackers, quality notes, examples, and onboarding materials.
• Support onboarding and training calls for contributors and help identify recurring issues.
• Propose workflow improvements for Marathi-language QA based on observed trends.

Requirements

You must meet the role’s language and review expectations and be comfortable working with remote collaboration tools.

• Native or near-native Marathi reading and writing ability.
• Strong English communication skills for feedback and coordination.
• Deep understanding of Marathi grammar, spelling conventions, punctuation, tone, register, regional variation, and cultural context.
• Experience in Marathi writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training, education, annotation, or related language-review workflows.
• Ability to evaluate content against detailed rubrics and identify mistranslation, literal phrasing, unnatural tone, hallucinated claims, ambiguity, or inconsistent terminology.
• Familiarity with remote collaboration tools such as Discord, Google Sheets, and Google Docs.

Helpful background (not required)

These experiences make you especially effective in the lead role and can help you hit the ground running.

• Experience leading or supporting remote teams of trainers, reviewers, editors, annotators, or QAs.
• Experience with AI training, large language models, prompt or response evaluation, or rubric-based LLM QA.

How the role works and how to apply

This is a remote contractor role open to contributors located in India (IN), Mauritius (MU), and Pakistan (PK). Work is part-time at 20+ hours per week and paid at a fixed hourly rate of USD $25/hour. The work focuses on text labeling and includes evaluation/rating and RLHF-style review tasks.
