  • Contribute directly to the development of cutting-edge AI systems
  • Use specialized legal judgment rather than repetitive clerical labeling
  • Choose flexible remote work that can fit around other professional commitments

The Role

OpenTrain AI is seeking an M&A Legal AI Training Associate to apply advanced legal judgment to the development and evaluation of AI-generated legal content. You will work with realistic mergers and acquisitions scenarios, contracts, and litigation cases while assessing legal principles, transaction risks, and the quality of model outputs.

This opportunity is intended for a practicing or recently practicing US-qualified attorney with recent top-tier law firm experience in M&A and corporate transactions.

  • Time requirement: 20+ hours per week
  • Work arrangement: Remote and worldwide
  • Language: English
  • Hourly compensation: $140-$400 USD

What You’ll Do

You will combine transaction experience, legal research, and clear communication to evaluate and improve content used in AI training. The work may involve both generating high-quality examples and reviewing model-produced material for accuracy, nuance, and practical relevance.

  • Evaluate and generate high-quality M&A legal content for AI system training
  • Review transaction scenarios, contracts, and litigation cases for legal principles and risk factors
  • Research corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, and private equity
  • Assess deal structuring, due diligence, and transaction risk
  • Provide nuanced legal perspectives and feedback in a remote, multidisciplinary setting
  • Participate in quality assurance for AI-generated outputs
  • Draft, edit, and clarify complex legal concepts in accessible written and verbal formats
  • Apply legal industry best practices to improve project deliverables

Required Qualifications

This role requires substantial professional expertise in corporate transactions and the ability to communicate complex legal analysis with precision. Candidates should be comfortable reviewing legal scenarios, contracts, and AI-generated legal content.

  • Demonstrated expertise in deal structuring, due diligence, and risk assessment
  • Strong foundation in corporate law, private equity, and related litigation matters
  • Ability to assess transaction risks and apply sound legal judgment
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication
  • Close attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in a remote setting

Helpful Background

Experience with legal content review, quality assurance, or training rubrics is beneficial. Familiarity with structured evaluation work can help you provide consistent, actionable feedback on AI-generated legal material.

  • Legal quality assurance experience
  • Experience working with training rubrics
  • Skill in reviewing contracts and complex legal scenarios
  • Ability to explain sophisticated legal concepts clearly

Why Work in AI Training

  • Flexible, part-time contractor format
  • Opportunity to apply high-value legal expertise to emerging technology
  • A way to develop experience in legal AI evaluation and content quality
