The Role

OpenTrain AI is seeking an M&A Contract Redlining Attorney to support legal AI training and evaluation through simulated negotiations, contract redlining, and expert review of AI-generated responses. You will apply practical transaction experience to assess risk, interpret agreement language, and communicate actionable guidance.

This is a part-time, remote contractor role available worldwide. English proficiency is required, and the expected time commitment is 20 or more hours per week.

What You’ll Do

You will combine practical M&A experience with careful evaluation of legal AI outputs. Your work will help improve the accuracy, consistency, and usefulness of AI-driven contract review systems.

  • Perform simulated negotiations and redlining exercises involving M&A agreements.
  • Review AI responses to contract scenarios for legal accuracy, risk identification, and output precision.
  • Develop objective evaluation frameworks and grading criteria for contract-task performance.
  • Collaborate with product and research teams to refine legal data, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Translate transaction-focused legal judgment into clear feedback that can improve AI contract review systems.

Required Qualifications

This listing is classified as entry level within the AI training field, but it requires meaningful professional M&A experience and active legal credentials. You must be able to evaluate contract language independently and express legal expertise as consistent, actionable guidance.

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • At least two years of experience in the M&A department of a corporate law firm.
  • Practical familiarity with standard M&A agreements, including acquisition purchase agreements and stock purchase agreements.
  • Experience with simulated contract redlining.
  • Ability to identify contractual risk and assess the legal accuracy of AI-generated responses.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, analytical ability, and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to create consistent evaluation frameworks and translate legal judgment into actionable feedback.
