About AI Training Work

AI training is the human side of building modern artificial intelligence. Contributors review model outputs, write examples, compare responses, and provide structured feedback so AI systems become more accurate, useful, safe, and natural across languages and real-world situations.

  • Work remotely with a computer and internet connection.
  • Use language expertise to influence how AI systems communicate.
  • Choose flexible work that can fit alongside other professional commitments.

The Role

OpenTrain is seeking a Lithuanian Language AI Evaluation Expert to improve the quality, fluency, reliability, and cultural accuracy of AI-generated Lithuanian content. You will combine advanced Lithuanian language judgment with structured model evaluation, written feedback, and reference-answer creation across varied use cases.

This is a remote, hourly contractor opportunity for an individual language professional who can work reliably and independently across time zones. The role is listed as entry level, while the requirements call for at least three years of professional experience in a language-focused discipline.

  • Remote contractor position
  • Part-time schedule with a commitment of 20+ hours per week
  • Advertised pay of up to $25 per hour
  • Open to candidates in Lithuania
  • Languages: Lithuanian and English

What You'll Do

You will assess Lithuanian AI content across general knowledge, customer support, education, conversational writing, translation, localization, and culturally sensitive content. Your evaluations will help identify where model responses succeed and where they need clearer, more accurate, or more natural language.

  • Review accuracy, fluency, grammar, spelling, punctuation, tone, register, cultural appropriateness, and prompt adherence.
  • Identify mistranslations, ambiguity, unnatural phrasing, terminology problems, logical inconsistencies, and factual hallucinations.
  • Flag bias, unsafe content, and policy-risk language.
  • Create prompts, rewrites, model answers, and gold-standard Lithuanian reference responses.
  • Rate and compare AI responses for correctness, meaning preservation, terminology quality, tone, register, safety, and overall quality.
  • Explain language issues clearly and provide precise written feedback showing how content should improve.

Requirements

You should have native or near-native Lithuanian proficiency, strong reading and writing ability, and professional English proficiency at a minimum C1 level for following guidelines and providing detailed feedback in English. Deep knowledge of Lithuanian grammar, spelling, punctuation, diacritics, cases, declension, conjugation, accentuation, word order, tone, and style is essential.

A bachelor's degree or higher in linguistics, Lithuanian language or literature, English literature, communications, journalism, translation, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent professional experience may also qualify. At least three years of professional experience in writing, editing, localization, translation, content QA, journalism, education, or another language-focused discipline is expected.

  • Strong judgment of Lithuanian grammar, case usage, agreement, word order, diacritics, punctuation, and style
  • Ability to distinguish formal, neutral, conversational, professional, educational, and public-facing Lithuanian registers
  • English-to-Lithuanian translation, localization, terminology, and meaning-preservation judgment
  • Ability to evaluate AI responses for fluency, factual reliability, safety, cultural appropriateness, and prompt adherence
  • Ability to create natural Lithuanian rewrites, prompts, and gold-standard reference answers
  • Reliable, self-directed work habits and consistent attention to detail
  • Prior experience with AI data training, annotation, translation QA, editorial QA, localization QA, or rubric-based evaluation is strongly preferred

Who Should Apply

This opportunity is suited to Lithuanian language professionals who can make nuanced judgments about meaning, register, terminology, and cultural context. It may be a strong fit for experienced writers, editors, translators, localization specialists, journalists, educators, or language quality reviewers interested in helping shape AI.

  • Lithuanian language or literature specialists
  • Translators and localization professionals
  • Editors, writers, journalists, and content QA specialists
  • Educators and communications professionals
  • Language professionals with AI evaluation or annotation experience
