The Role

OpenTrain is seeking a Legal AI Response Evaluation Lawyer to assess written outputs used in advanced AI system development. You will apply legal judgment to responses generated for legal and technical prompts, evaluating whether they are precise, appropriately qualified, tailored to their audience, and supported by available facts.

This contractor engagement focuses on analytical review rather than legal advice or legal representation. The role is listed as entry level and requires a commitment of 20 or more hours per week.

What You'll Do

You will compare multiple AI-generated responses and assess their quality using consistent evaluation standards. Your written rationales should clearly explain why a response succeeds or falls short.

The work requires careful review of legal reasoning, factual support, tone, audience fit, and compliance with instructions. You will document findings in online review platforms and collaborate asynchronously with other reviewers.

• Evaluate and compare AI-generated responses to legal and technical prompts

Requirements

Applicants must have a qualifying law degree from a university in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, or New Zealand. You must also have first-language English or fully equivalent written English fluency.

Your background should include substantive legal writing and the ability to distinguish precise, well-supported legal reasoning from confident but unsupported assertions.

• Experience reviewing, editing, or supervising legal writing
• Ability to evaluate whether legal writing is precise, properly qualified, and factually supported
• Ability to assess writing for different audiences
• Exceptional critical analysis, written communication, and attention to detail
• Fully equivalent written English fluency
