About OpenTrain

OpenTrain is the #1 platform for finding and building careers in AI training and data labeling. Create a free profile, discover projects across the industry, and apply in minutes to roles that let you shape how AI systems learn from human examples.

We connect experienced contributors with meaningful tasks that train and refine AI models. This role is part of that mission: you’ll directly improve how AI generates and explains Laravel code.

Why AI Training Work Matters

AI training (also called data labeling or human feedback) is the human side of building modern AI. People prepare, review, and rate examples so models learn safer, more accurate, and more useful behaviors.

These projects are highly flexible and accessible: they tend to be 100% remote, often part-time, and let experts and skilled contributors influence state-of-the-art developer tooling and code generation.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Laravel developer to evaluate AI-generated prompts, code, and explanations and to act as an AI interviewer assessing candidates’ Laravel expertise.

You will judge accuracy, security, performance, and maintainability of code the AI produces, and provide concise, actionable feedback that helps the model and downstream users.

  • Employment type: Contractor, Part-time.
  • Time requirement: Less than 20 hours per week.
  • Pay: $20 USD per hour (PAY_PER_HOUR).
  • World-wide remote: you may work from any country.

What You'll Do

Your primary task is to review AI-generated Laravel code, explanations, and prompts and evaluate them against Laravel best practices, correctness, and security standards.

As an AI interviewer, you will run structured interviews with candidates (or simulate them) to assess technical proficiency, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Assess syntax correctness, performance efficiency, maintainability, and security compliance of AI-produced Laravel code.
  • Identify issues, inefficiencies, missing context, or misleading explanations in AI responses and request or draft improved versions.
  • Provide clear, well-structured written feedback and code-review comments suitable for both beginners and experienced developers.
  • Ask candidate-focused technical questions about Eloquent, Blade, routing, middleware, queues, caching, debugging, and API development per the interview script.

Requirements

You must have substantive, hands-on Laravel experience and strong written English skills to produce clear, actionable feedback.

All listed requirements come from the role description and are necessary to perform the job as specified.

  • Minimum 5+ years working with Laravel, including deep knowledge of Laravel architecture.
  • Strong experience with Eloquent ORM, Blade templating, routing, middleware, and API development.
  • Solid understanding of security best practices and performance optimization in Laravel applications.
  • Proven ability to perform code reviews, debugging, and documentation (experience is a plus where noted).
  • Excellent written English: able to write structured, concise, and professional feedback and interview prompts.

Who Should Apply

Apply if you are an experienced Laravel developer who enjoys teaching, reviewing code, and improving AI-generated developer content.

This role suits people who can evaluate technical correctness and also communicate improvements in a beginner-friendly and constructive way.

  • Laravel engineers with real-world production experience and a track record of code reviews.
  • Developers who can explain complex concepts simply and draft clear review comments and rewritten answers.
  • People available for part-time contract work and comfortable working asynchronously in English.

Compensation, Tools, and How It Works

This is a contract, part-time role paid at $20 USD per hour. Estimated workload is under 20 hours per week but varies by project demand.

You will review AI-generated code and follow a structured interview script provided in the task. Labeling software is listed as Other; details and access instructions will be provided when you start a project.

  • Data type: COMPUTER_CODE_PROGRAMMING; label types: COMPUTER_PROGRAMMING_CODING.
  • You will be asked to evaluate AI outputs, suggest corrections, rewrite answers, and record clear code-review comments.
