The role

We are looking for a Kannada Quality Assurance Lead to oversee quality and consistency across Kannada AI training projects. You will review AI-generated Kannada content and trainer QA submissions, provide precise feedback, and maintain standards for accuracy, fluency, tone, and cultural appropriateness.

This is a contractor, part-time position (20+ hours/week) paid at $30 USD per hour. You will work remotely and communicate with distributed contributors via shared documentation and remote channels.

What you'll do

Your day-to-day work centers on evaluating Kannada text against project rubrics, coaching contributors, and keeping documentation current to prevent recurring errors.

• Review Kannada AI-generated content and trainer QA submissions against project rubrics
• Identify quality issues in translation fidelity, wording, tone, regional usage, and consistency
• Write clear, actionable feedback for trainers and QAs
• Communicate guideline updates and workflow changes in remote channels
• Maintain documentation such as style guides, FAQs, trackers, examples, and onboarding materials
• Support onboarding and training calls for new contributors
• Help improve QA processes and escalate recurring or critical issues
• Monitor contributor activity and help activate contributors who are not working consistently

Requirements

Candidates must meet the language, experience, and communication expectations below. These are firm role requirements drawn from project needs.

• Native or near-native Kannada reading and writing ability
• Strong English communication skills for clear team feedback
• Experience reviewing Kannada translation quality, localization, or content QA
• Ability to judge fluency, grammar, punctuation, tone, register, and cultural appropriateness
• Familiarity with rubric-based evaluation and spotting mistranslation, literal phrasing, and unnatural tone
• Experience coordinating, mentoring, or leading remote trainers, annotators, reviewers, editors, or QAs is strongly preferred

Helpful background

The following experience will help you ramp quickly but is not strictly required if you meet the core language and QA criteria.

• Experience with Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, trackers, dashboards, or project management tools
• Familiarity with style guides, honeypots, calibration tasks, or QA documentation
• Experience with LLM evaluation, prompt/response review, or other AI training workflows
