The Role

OpenTrain AI is seeking an expert Kannada Quality Assurance Lead to oversee quality and consistency across Kannada AI training projects. You will review AI-generated Kannada content and trainer QA work against project guidelines, identify recurring issues, and help maintain high standards across contributor workflows.

This is a part-time contractor role requiring 20+ hours per week. The rate is $30 per hour. Applicants may be based in India, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, the United States, or the United Arab Emirates.

What You'll Do

You will combine detailed Kannada language review with contributor support and quality-process coordination. Your feedback should be specific and actionable, helping trainers and QAs understand how to improve their work.

You will also help keep project documentation current, communicate workflow changes through remote channels, and escalate recurring or critical quality issues.

• Review Kannada AI-generated content and trainer QA submissions against project rubrics
• Evaluate translation fidelity, wording, tone, regional usage, grammar, spelling, formatting, and instruction-following
• Identify mistranslations, literal phrasing, unnatural tone, and consistency problems
• Write clear, actionable feedback for trainers and QAs
• Communicate guideline updates and workflow changes in remote channels
• Maintain style guides, FAQs, trackers, dashboards, examples, and onboarding materials
• Support onboarding and training calls for new contributors
• Monitor recurring quality issues and help improve QA processes
• Help activate contributors who are not working consistently
• Escalate recurring or critical issues

Required Qualifications

This role requires native or near-native Kannada reading and writing ability, along with strong English communication for team feedback and remote collaboration. You should be comfortable judging language quality against detailed rubrics and explaining your decisions clearly.

Relevant experience may include Kannada writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training, education, annotation, or related language review work.

• Native or near-native Kannada proficiency with strong reading and writing skills
• Strong English communication skills for clear feedback and team communication
• Knowledge of Kannada grammar, spelling conventions, punctuation, register, and cultural context
• Ability to evaluate fluency, meaning preservation, tone, and cultural appropriateness
• Ability to review content against detailed rubrics and identify subtle language issues
• Experience reviewing Kannada translation quality, localization, or content QA
• Familiarity with AI training, LLM evaluation, or rubric-based language review

Helpful Experience

Experience guiding distributed contributors is strongly preferred. Familiarity with common remote collaboration and documentation tools will help you manage reviews, communicate changes, and keep quality resources organized.

• Experience supporting or leading remote trainers, annotators, reviewers, editors, or QAs
• Experience coordinating or mentoring remote trainers or reviewers
• Familiarity with Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, trackers, dashboards, or project management tools
• Experience with style guides, honeypots, calibration tasks, or QA documentation
• Experience with LLM evaluation, prompt and response review, or other AI training workflows
