The Role

OpenTrain AI is seeking an intermediate Kannada Language Quality Reviewer to evaluate AI-generated Kannada content across general knowledge, customer support, education, and conversational writing. You will assess correctness, fluency, grammar, spelling, tone, cultural appropriateness, and adherence to prompts while producing precise feedback and high-quality rewrites.

This is a remote, hourly contractor opportunity requiring 20 or more hours per week. The rate is $20 per hour. Contributors may be based in India, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, the United States, or the United Arab Emirates.

What You'll Do

You will review Kannada writing closely, compare multiple AI responses, and explain which outputs are strongest and why. Your work will include creating prompts and gold-standard answers, checking factual claims when needed, and writing model responses that demonstrate effective Kannada usage.

• Review AI-generated Kannada content for accuracy, fluency, grammar, spelling, tone, and cultural appropriateness.
• Compare and rate multiple AI responses for correctness and overall quality.
• Identify mistranslations, awkward phrasing, register mismatches, ambiguity, and logical inconsistencies.
• Fact-check claims when needed and flag unsafe, misleading, or biased content.
• Create prompts and gold-standard Kannada answers across multiple domains.
• Write precise feedback, high-quality rewrites, and reference answers.

Requirements

You must have native or near-native Kannada reading and writing ability, along with strong professional English proficiency for following guidelines and writing detailed feedback. The role requires a deep understanding of Kannada grammar, spelling, punctuation, style, tone, regional variation, and audience adaptation.

A background in writing, editing, localization, translation, content quality assurance, journalism, education, or another language-focused field is required. Prior AI data training, translation quality assurance, editorial quality assurance, or rubric-based evaluation experience is strongly preferred.

• Native or near-native Kannada proficiency.
• Strong professional English proficiency.
• Excellent Kannada grammar, spelling, punctuation, style, and tone knowledge.
• Ability to work with formal and informal registers, regional variation, and different audiences.
• Strong attention to subtle meaning shifts and culturally awkward phrasing.
• Experience in writing, editing, localization, translation, content QA, journalism, education, or related work.
• Prior AI data training, translation QA, editorial QA, or rubric-based evaluation experience is preferred.

Helpful Background

A bachelor's degree or higher in Linguistics, Kannada or English Literature, Communications, Journalism, Translation, or a related field may be helpful. Experience working across multiple language contexts, including translation quality review and copyediting, is also valuable.

You should be comfortable producing clear written feedback in an hourly remote contractor workflow and evaluating language across a range of content types.
