The Role

OpenTrain AI is recruiting a Japanese Voice AI Evaluator to capture and assess natural voice interactions with an AI assistant. Using a specialized application on your own Mac, you will complete realistic everyday tasks by voice and help create high-quality training data through transcription, structured logging, and response evaluation.

This is a remote, four-week contractor engagement paying $16.36 per hour. The default commitment is 40 hours per week, while the role is listed with a minimum time requirement of 20+ hours per week.

What You’ll Do

You will use spoken Japanese to complete everyday productivity tasks and document how the AI assistant performs. The work combines natural voice recording, accurate transcription, structured data entry, and careful quality review.

• Use spoken Japanese to compose messages, emails, and notes across everyday applications
• Direct the assistant to generate images, format text, apply spreadsheet formulas, and summarize documents
• Record accurate transcripts of spoken queries
• Produce cleaned versions of transcripts
• Evaluate AI assistant responses for quality and accuracy
• Enter task information in a structured tracking sheet
• Upload supporting voice recordings to a shared drive

Requirements

This entry-level role requires strong Japanese language ability, careful attention to detail, and comfort following detailed instructions in English. You must provide your own compatible Mac and be able to work independently while maintaining consistent transcription and evaluation quality.

• Native or near-native Japanese proficiency for natural spoken interactions
• Language and cultural fluency suitable for everyday Japanese conversations
• Ability to understand and follow detailed work instructions in English
• Ownership of a Mac with an Apple Silicon chip, including M1, M2, or M3
• macOS Sequoia 15.0 or newer
• Regular experience using email, messaging, document, spreadsheet, and browser applications
• Careful, consistent data entry and independent quality review skills
• Accuracy when transcribing spoken Japanese and evaluating AI assistant responses
