The Role

OpenTrain is seeking a Japanese voice actor to create expressive voice recordings that support AI training work across varied domains. You will bring characters and stories to life while matching the required emotion, personality, tone, clarity, and pacing.

This opportunity is categorized as entry level, but previous Japanese voice acting experience is required. It is a flexible freelance agreement rather than full-time or part-time employment, with an expected commitment of 20 or more hours per week.

What You'll Do

You will produce polished Japanese voice-over recordings and respond to creative direction throughout the process. Recordings may be completed through a professional home studio or during in-studio sessions, as appropriate.

• Record Japanese voice-overs for AI training projects
• Interpret scripts and perform lines with clear speech and emotional range
• Bring appropriate personality, tone, vocal control, and pacing to each performance
• Follow creative direction accurately
• Revise performances in response to feedback
• Deliver polished audio files on time and in the required format

Requirements and Helpful Experience

You should have previous Japanese voice acting experience and the versatility to perform different character or storytelling styles. Strong vocal control, clear speech, emotional range, reliable communication, and the ability to meet deadlines are essential.

A professional home recording setup is required for remote sessions. Helpful additional experience includes dubbing, ADR, localization, acting or other performing arts training, audio editing, and maintaining a demo reel that shows a variety of voice styles.
