The Role

OpenTrain is seeking a contractor IT Strategy and Systems Architecture Reviewer to provide practical IT management judgment for AI training work. You will assess how AI systems handle real-world technology strategy, infrastructure, governance, and operational scenarios.

Your expertise will support written assignments, structured discussions, and detailed reviews that help inform smarter AI tools for IT professionals. Prior AI experience is not required.

What You'll Do

You will use your experience leading technical teams and managing enterprise-scale infrastructure to analyze proposed solutions, documentation, workflows, and operational scenarios. Your feedback should be practical, clearly reasoned, and grounded in real-world IT management.

  • Assess IT strategy development, systems architecture planning, technology roadmapping, and infrastructure optimization scenarios.
  • Evaluate vendor management and procurement situations, including contract considerations and third-party system integration.
  • Provide examples and recommendations related to security compliance, risk mitigation, and regulatory standards.
  • Review proposed IT solutions and identify gaps or opportunities to improve architecture and implementation.
  • Assess documentation, workflows, and process designs for clarity, feasibility, and operational efficiency.
  • Share best practices in technical team leadership, knowledge transfer, mentoring, and professional upskilling.
  • Complete structured discussions and written assignments that inform AI tool development.

Requirements

This role requires experienced IT or systems management judgment. The structured experience level may be listed as entry level, but the role-specific requirements call for at least five years of relevant experience.

  • At least five years of experience as an IT or Systems Manager leading technical teams or managing enterprise-scale infrastructure.
  • Expertise in IT strategy, systems architecture, infrastructure optimization, and technology roadmapping.
  • Experience with vendor management, contract evaluation, procurement, and third-party solution integration.
  • Knowledge of ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, security compliance, and IT risk management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze documentation and workflows holistically.
  • Experience mentoring or coaching IT professionals.
