OpenTrain is the #1 platform for people building careers in AI training and data labeling. We connect experienced contributors with specialist projects where human expertise shapes how AI behaves, and we help you turn project work into a durable freelance career.

Why AI Training Work Matters

AI training is the human side of building intelligent systems: experts review and refine model outputs, correct technical analyses, and create gold-standard answers that guide model behavior. This work is a flexible, accessible way to apply professional expertise directly to cutting-edge AI.

  • 100% remote-friendly work that often lets you set your own hours and workload.
  • Ideal for part-time contracting — fit projects around other commitments.
  • Contribute to how state-of-the-art AI systems interpret and apply domain knowledge.

Role Overview

OpenTrain is hiring an Irish Domestic Tax Specialist to review AI-generated tax research focused exclusively on Irish domestic taxation. You will evaluate technical analyses, supporting authorities, and grading rubrics, then help refine gold-standard answers so they align with Irish law, Revenue guidance, and case law.

This is a contractor, part-time role (20+ hours/week). Candidates must be based in Ireland and able to work and communicate in English. The work uses text-based review and evaluation (label types: evaluation ratings and text generation).

  • Employment type: Contractor, Part-time.
  • Minimum weekly commitment: 20+ hours.
  • Location requirement: Ireland (IE); English required.
  • Data type: Text — label types include evaluation rating and text generation.

What You'll Do

  • Review Irish domestic tax research questions and model answers for technical accuracy.
  • Validate legal authorities cited and confirm alignment with Revenue guidance and legislative updates.
  • Improve grading rubrics and refine gold-standard answers.
  • Verify technical accuracy across core domestic tax topics, including Corporation Tax, Income Tax, VAT, Capital Gains Tax, Capital Acquisitions Tax, Stamp Duty, and tax controversy where relevant.
  • Contribute to clear, defensible model answers that can be used as training benchmarks.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in Irish tax practice.
  • Professional qualification: Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA Ireland), ACA, ACCA, Chartered Accountant Ireland, Solicitor, or equivalent.
  • Deep expertise in Irish domestic taxation and core domestic tax topics.
  • Experience interpreting the Irish Taxes Consolidation Act, Revenue guidance, and relevant case law.
  • Experience preparing technical tax memoranda or advisory opinions.
  • Proven analytical skills and strong written communication.

Who Should Apply

This role is for experienced Irish tax professionals who enjoy technical review and written analysis, and who want to apply their expertise part-time to improve AI systems. If you have extensive domestic tax experience, routinely prepare advisory memoranda, and can judge nuanced legal and technical reasoning, this role is a strong fit.

Compensation, Schedule, and Next Steps

Pay is on an hourly contractor basis in USD with a stated range of $100–$130 per hour. The project expects a minimum commitment of 20+ hours per week. OpenTrain will contract directly for this role.
