OpenTrain is the #1 platform for finding and building careers in AI training and data labeling. We connect domain specialists with meaningful review and annotation work that directly shapes how modern AI systems behave.
For this role, OpenTrain is the hiring and contracting organization. You will join a network of freelancers who build a durable AI-training portfolio while working remotely and flexibly.
About AI Training Work
AI training (data labeling and human evaluation) is the human side of building artificial intelligence: experts annotate, evaluate, and correct machine outputs so models learn accurate, reliable behavior. This work is a fast-growing way to apply professional skills to cutting-edge technology.
Many projects are fully remote and flexible, making them suitable for experienced professionals who want part-time, high-impact work alongside other engagements.
100% remote — work from anywhere in India with a computer and internet.
Flexible, part-time contracting work that fits around other commitments.
Work directly shapes model accuracy and legal reasoning in tax contexts.
The Role
OpenTrain is recruiting an Indian Domestic Tax Review Specialist to evaluate AI-generated tax research focused on Indian domestic taxation. You will assess model answers for technical accuracy, statutory interpretation, supporting authorities, and up-to-date applicability given recent legislative or case-law developments.
This is contractor, part-time work requiring disciplined written judgment and strong familiarity with Indian tax law. The role centers on review, correction, and rubric refinement rather than original client advisory work.
What You'll Do
Review Indian tax research questions and AI-generated model answers for accuracy and completeness.
Improve technical accuracy of tax analyses and update answers to reflect recent legislative or case-law developments.
Refine grading rubrics and scoring guidelines where necessary to improve evaluation consistency.

Requirements
Minimum 5 years of experience in Indian taxation.
Professional qualification such as Chartered Accountant (CA), Advocate, Cost Accountant, or equivalent tax credential.
Deep, demonstrable expertise in Indian domestic taxation (Direct Tax and GST).
Familiarity with the Income-tax Act, GST legislation, CBDT circulars, and key judicial precedents.
Experience preparing tax opinions, litigation support, or advisory memoranda.
Strong written communication skills and ability to explain technical issues clearly in English.
Helpful Background
Corporate tax and direct tax advisory experience.
Practical exposure to GST, TDS/TCS, assessments, and appeals.
Hands-on experience with tax litigation or preparation of advisory memoranda.
Prior work producing formal tax opinions or compliance documentation.
