About this AI training role
This contract role brings together tax expertise and AI training: you will read, analyze, and annotate legal tax materials so machine-learning models learn correct interpretations and applications of US tax law. Prior experience in AI training is not required — real-world subject-matter expertise is what matters.
The role
You will work as an independent contractor to evaluate US tax statutes, Treasury Regulations, and individual tax returns and produce clear annotations, summaries, and question/answer mappings. Your output will be used to train and validate models that need accurate legal and compliance reasoning.
What you'll do
Analyze and annotate Internal Revenue Code sections and related US Treasury Regulations for technical accuracy and applicability.
Review US tax legal documents for clarity, statutory interpretation, and correct citation of authorities.
Evaluate Form 1040 individual tax returns in the context of IRS guidance and regulations.
Draft concise summaries or explanatory notes that clarify complex tax-law concepts for downstream reviewers and model training.
Identify and flag inconsistencies, ambiguities, or areas of confusion in source materials to improve label quality.
Produce labels in document-focused tasks such as entity NER classification, text summarization, and question-answering.
Requirements
Active Certified Public Accountant (India) qualification is required.
Demonstrable expertise with the Internal Revenue Code, US Treasury Regulations, and IRS compliance requirements.
Experience reviewing or preparing US individual tax returns, especially Form 1040.
Strong written communication skills and the ability to explain statutory exceptions and regulatory nuances clearly.
Detail-oriented approach with the ability to work independently on remote contractor tasks.
Schedule, pay, and logistics
This is a part-time contractor role requiring 20+ hours per week. You will collaborate via digital platforms and deliver clear written and (as needed) verbal findings.
Pay: $20–$30 USD per hour (range specified).
Location: Must be based in India and able to work remotely (English required).
Work type: Contractor, part-time, remote.
Who should apply and how it works
This role is ideal for CPAs in India with hands-on US individual tax experience who want flexible, remote contractor work and enjoy turning technical knowledge into clear training data.
