The Role
OpenTrain is engaging Investment Banking Experts for a project focused on improving financial data analysis, modeling, and industry research processes. You will apply experience from investment banking, M&A, or industry coverage to create and review high-quality materials used in AI training.

What You'll Do
You will produce, assess, and explain investment banking analysis and transaction materials. The work requires close attention to numerical accuracy, methodological soundness, strategic logic, and clear communication.
- Conduct company and industry research for AI training initiatives.
- Perform and review buyer or target screening, comparable company analysis, and financial modeling.
- Build, update, and troubleshoot detailed Excel-based valuation and transaction models.
- Check models for methodological accuracy, logical consistency, and clear presentation of outputs.
- Prepare and edit materials similar to client presentations or pitchbooks for transaction execution scenarios.
- Analyze sample materials for numerical errors, weak strategy, or unclear logic.
- Provide actionable feedback to improve analytical and presentation materials.
- Explain accounting treatments, valuation adjustments, deal sensitivities, and the effects of key assumptions.
- Write and speak clearly about complex financial concepts for diverse audiences.
- Identify and articulate quantitative inaccuracies and strategic weaknesses in transaction materials.
Preferred Qualifications
The strongest candidates will bring substantial hands-on investment banking experience and a track record of producing high-quality analysis and client-facing deliverables. The role is especially suited to professionals who can both create and critically review transaction materials.
- Former Senior Associate, preferably third-year, or Vice President experience.
- Background on an M&A or industry-coverage team at a leading investment bank, established M&A boutique, or sector-focused advisory firm.
- Substantial experience with live acquisition or sale processes.
- Demonstrated ability to produce and review analytical and presentation materials to senior banker or client standards.
- Mastery of Excel modeling, including troubleshooting, scenario analysis, and output presentation.
- Direct experience with company and industry research, target screening, comps analysis, and pitchbook preparation.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to provide clear, accurate, and actionable feedback.
