The Role

OpenTrain is recruiting reporters and correspondents to create document-driven articles and summaries for AI training. You will transform public records, reports, and lengthy document sets into accurate, verifiable narratives while following established journalistic structures and maintaining clear research trails.

Assignments may vary, and compensation is output-based within the supported hourly rate range. The work is remote, contractual, and suited to professionals who can move from extensive source materials to concise, context-rich reporting without sacrificing factual consistency.

What You'll Do

You will research, validate, and write non-opinion content from provided document sets. Your work will need to remain accurate, transparent, and grounded in evidence while communicating complex findings clearly to readers and project stakeholders.

  • Analyze and synthesize complex source materials to identify key findings.
  • Verify sources and fact-check claims to maintain accuracy and credibility.
  • Write non-opinion articles using professional structures such as the lead and inverted pyramid.
  • Prepare concise summaries or full-length articles from provided document sets.
  • Participate in editorial reviews and incorporate feedback on clarity, structure, and factual consistency.
  • Record research methods and citation trails for transparency and future reference.
  • Communicate findings clearly in written and verbal formats.

Requirements

  • At least four years of reporting or correspondent experience at a recognized media outlet

  • Strong source validation, fact-checking, and verifiable reporting skills
  • A non-opinion approach to research and writing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
