About AI Training Work

AI training is the human side of building intelligent systems — people annotate, record, and evaluate examples that modern models learn from. In text-to-speech (TTS) projects, high-quality recordings and varied deliveries teach models to speak naturally across styles and contexts.

This role contributes directly to how next-generation TTS systems sound, and the work is remote and flexible while requiring professional audio consistency.

The Role

You will record high-quality Indonesian speech to train and evaluate text-to-speech models. Deliver natural, expressive recordings across conversational, narrative, and instructional scripts while following recording guidance for environment, microphone setup, file format, and session consistency.

This is a part-time contractor role requiring at least 20 hours per week. Pay is $50 per hour (paid through OpenTrain). You must be based in Indonesia and a native Bahasa Indonesia speaker.

• Tasks include both audio recording and evaluation/rating of samples.

What You'll Do

• Record voice samples across diverse scripts (conversational, narrative, instructional).
• Deliver clear, natural, and expressive speech with consistent tone, pacing, and pronunciation.
• Maintain stable voice, accent, and delivery across sessions and recording days.
• Follow detailed recording guidance for microphone setup, room conditions, and file formatting.
• Provide alternate takes with variation in emotion, emphasis, and delivery style.
• Perform evaluation and rating tasks on recordings when requested to support quality control.

Requirements

• Native-level Bahasa Indonesia speaker and resident of Indonesia (required).
• Expert-level experience in voice acting, dubbing, narration, podcasting, or broadcasting.
• Professional or near-professional recording setup and a consistently quiet environment.
• Strong control of intonation, diction, pacing, tone, and emotional range.
• Ability to follow scripts precisely while keeping delivery natural.
• Comfort with voice cloning for AI use and signing any necessary consent for model training.
• Available for 20+ hours per week as a contractor.
• English fluency is a plus but not required.

How It Works

After you apply, you'll receive onboarding materials and recording guidelines, plus test scripts to demonstrate your setup and style. Work is organized into sessions; you will submit per-session audio files and occasional evaluation ratings as instructed.

OpenTrain pays hourly at the listed rate and manages contracts and approvals. Expect iterative feedback on recordings to meet the project's consistency and quality standards.
