The Role

We are hiring a Voice Actor to provide high-quality recordings used to train and evaluate TTS and speech models. You will read varied scripts, deliver expressive but consistent performances, and follow technical recording and file-format guidelines.

• Schedule: 20+ hours/week (flexible hours).
• Employment: Contract, part-time.
• Pay: $50 USD per hour (paid per hour).
• Location: Must be a native American English speaker based in the United States.

What You'll Do

Your primary work is recording voice samples across conversational, narrative, and instructional scripts. Expect to deliver clean takes that match timing, tone, and pronunciation targets, and to provide alternate takes to capture emotional or stylistic variation when asked.

• Record natural, expressive speech with strong control of tone and pacing.
• Maintain consistent voice, accent, and delivery across sessions.
• Follow detailed guidance for microphone setup, recording environment, and file formatting.
• Provide multiple takes with variations in emotion, emphasis, and style as requested.
• Contribute to both data collection (raw recordings) and evaluation tasks when required.

Requirements

The role requires native American English fluency, relevant voice experience, and a professional or near-professional recording setup. Carefully follow scripts while keeping delivery natural and clear.

• Native American English speaker based in the United States.
• Experience in voice acting, narration, dubbing, podcasting, or broadcasting.
• Professional or near-professional recording setup with a quality microphone and a quiet space.
• Strong command of intonation, diction, and emotional range.
• Comfortable with voice cloning and AI voice work, and able to follow scripts precisely.

Helpful Background

Previous projects recording TTS, audiobooks, IVR systems, or building AI voice datasets are valuable but not strictly required. Familiarity with basic audio editing tools helps when preparing files to specifications.

• Prior recording experience for TTS, audiobooks, IVR, or AI voice datasets.
• Familiarity with audio editing tools such as Audacity, Adobe Audition, or Reaper.
• Ability to perform multiple vocal styles (conversational, corporate, energetic, calm).
