The Role

OpenTrain is seeking an Indonesian STEM AI Safety Evaluator to support the quality and safety of advanced AI models. You will work primarily in Indonesian while using business-level written English and deep scientific knowledge to assess prompts and responses across specialized technical subjects.

This entry-level workflow includes training on the process and is suited to candidates pursuing or having completed a PhD in chemistry, biology, or a closely related field.

What You'll Do

You will combine expert prompt writing, scientific evaluation, structured classification, and careful safety judgment. Your reviews will help identify scientifically inaccurate, unhelpful, or inappropriately detailed model behavior.

• Write expert-level prompts in Indonesian across specialized scientific topics
• Evaluate responses for scientific accuracy and helpfulness
• Assess whether technical content handles sensitive topics appropriately
• Classify prompts and conversations using structured guidelines
• Review chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear subject matter
• Use laboratory and computational knowledge to assess technical content
• Support safer model behavior across related scientific fields

Requirements

Applicants should have PhD-level expertise in chemistry, biology, or a closely related scientific field. You must be able to write precise scientific prompts, evaluate specialized technical content, and apply sound judgment when reviewing dual-use information.

Relevant scientific depth may include organic or inorganic synthesis, molecular biology, microbiology, virology, genetics, radiochemistry, nuclear chemistry, energetic materials, or radiation physics.

• Pursuing or completed a PhD in chemistry, biology, or a closely related field
• Native or near-native Indonesian fluency
• Business-level written English
• Familiarity with modern laboratory or computational techniques
• Ability to evaluate scientific accuracy and technical quality
• Sound judgment regarding scientific safety and dual-use information

Helpful Background

Experience reviewing, grading, or red-teaming technical content is helpful but not required. Additional experience in chemical safety and security, biosafety and biosecurity, hazardous-materials handling, or radiological and nuclear topics can support success in this role.

Applicants based in Indonesia or the wider Southeast Asia region are preferred, while applicants elsewhere are welcome.
