The Role
OpenTrain is hiring an Indonesian AI Safety Evaluation Expert to assess how advanced AI models handle sensitive and dual-use topics. You will create expert-level prompts in Indonesian, review prompts and conversations against structured guidelines, identify adversarial phrasing and escalation patterns, and clearly document the reasoning behind your judgments.
This is an entry-level, part-time contractor role for careful bilingual contributors who can combine Indonesian fluency, written English, cultural judgment, and attention to detail. The role is remote and open worldwide, with applicants based in Indonesia or elsewhere in Southeast Asia preferred.
Pay: $18-$22 per hour

What You'll Do
You will evaluate written AI safety scenarios in Indonesian and apply structured classification guidance consistently. The work requires thoughtful analysis of language, intent, cultural context, and potential risk.
Write expert-level prompts in Indonesian across sensitive subject areas
Classify prompts and conversations using structured evaluation guidelines
Flag adversarial phrasing, escalation patterns, and other safety concerns
Explain the reasoning behind your classifications and judgments
Evaluate model behavior with attention to Indonesian language and cultural context
Requirements and Helpful Background
Applicants should be able to reason carefully in writing, maintain close attention to detail, and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive and dual-use information. A bachelor's degree completed or in progress is required.
Experience reviewing, grading, or red-teaming written or technical content is helpful. Background in trust and safety, content moderation, policy evaluation, or adversarial testing is also beneficial.
Native or near-native fluency in Indonesian
Business-level written English
Strong written reasoning and attention to detail
Sound judgment around sensitive and dual-use information
Completed or in-progress bachelor's degree
