About this role
OpenTrain is recruiting a Hindi Scientific AI Safety Evaluator to help improve the safety and quality of advanced AI models. You will apply scientific expertise to Hindi-language technical content, focusing on chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear topics. The work combines expert prompt writing, response evaluation, and structured classification, with careful attention to scientific accuracy, helpfulness, sensitive content, and dual-use safety.

What you will do
Write expert-level prompts in Hindi across specialized scientific topics. Evaluate model responses for scientific accuracy, helpfulness, and appropriate handling of sensitive content. Annotate responses and classify prompts and conversations using structured guidelines. Apply sound scientific judgment when reviewing technical information involving safety, security, or potential dual-use concerns. Identify strengths, weaknesses, and safety issues in model behavior using your subject-matter expertise.

Required skills
A PhD in chemistry, biology, or a closely related field, either completed or in progress, with depth in chemical, biological, radiological, or nuclear subject areas. Native or near-native Hindi fluency and business-level written English are required. Candidates should have strong familiarity with modern laboratory and computational techniques in their subfield, as well as the ability to evaluate technical claims and communicate clear judgments about scientific accuracy and safety.

Helpful background
Experience with radiochemistry, nuclear chemistry, energetic materials, radiation physics, organic or inorganic synthesis, molecular biology, microbiology, virology, or genetics is useful. Background in chemical safety and security, biosafety, biosecurity, hazardous-materials handling, or technical content review can also support the work. Experience grading or red-teaming technical content is welcome, and prior AI or machine-learning experience is not required.

Schedule, location, and pay
This is a remote contract opportunity open globally, with candidates in India and the wider South Asia region preferred. The expected commitment is about 7 hours per week. Compensation is $23‑$27 per hour.
