The Role

OpenTrain is seeking a German Audio Transcript Editor to review and correct German audio transcripts for AI training. This is an entry-level, part-time contractor role with a flexible schedule and asynchronous workflow.

The pay range is $10-$35 per hour, and the expected time commitment is 20 or more hours per week. This role is available to native or near-native German speakers living in the United States.

What You'll Do

You will compare spoken German audio with existing transcripts and make precise editorial corrections. The work requires careful listening, consistent application of guidelines, and reliable independent performance across large volumes of transcript tasks.

• Listen to German audio recordings and compare them with existing transcripts
• Correct misspellings, missing words, misheard phrases, and other word-level errors
• Verify and adjust transcript timing and segment alignment
• Apply detailed style and formatting guidelines consistently
• Flag unclear or overlapping audio segments
• Handle dialects, colloquial speech, and filler words as directed
• Maintain quality and consistency across large volumes of work
• Work independently and asynchronously on your own schedule

Requirements

You should have a native or near-native command of German and an excellent ear for spoken German across accents and registers. Strong attention to detail is essential, particularly when reviewing word-level accuracy and exact timing.

• Linguistics training or academic study in German language

• Experience following structured editorial or quality assurance guidelines
