About AI training work

AI training is the human side of building intelligent systems: people create, review, and rate examples that models learn from. This role focuses on evaluating conversational personalization — a high-impact area where human judgment directly improves model behavior.

  • 100% remote work that fits around other commitments.
  • Accessible entry points; many projects need language skills and attention to detail rather than formal engineering experience.
  • Work influences how large models use personal information and make inferences.

The role

You will work as a contractor AI Quality Analyst evaluating personalized conversations in Spanish for Gemini-style models. This is evaluation work (not coding) focused on the quality of personalization, grounding, and helpfulness in multi-turn dialogs.

  • Role type: Contractor, Part-time / Flexible; entry level.
  • Duration: 3 months.
  • Pay: $15.00 USD per hour.
  • Language: Professional reading and writing Spanish required.
  • Location: Remote, worldwide. Must be available in your local time zone with required overlap (see schedule).

What you'll do

  • Design and run multi-turn conversational prompts (typically 1–5 turns) that require the model to use personal information and experiences.
  • Evaluate responses for grounding issues, integration quality, and overall helpfulness.
  • Perform side-by-side (SxS) comparisons of two model responses and write clear, defensible rationales that reference specific conversation turns.
  • Maintain strict data hygiene by deleting evaluation conversations after work completion.

Requirements

  • Professional proficiency in reading and writing Spanish.
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience in Policy, Law, Ethics, Linguistics, Journalism, Computer Science, or a related analytical field.
  • Experience with data annotation, AI quality evaluation, or content moderation is strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional analytical thinking and creative prompt-engineering skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to spot subtle differences in model responses.
  • Excellent written communication for structured evaluation rationales.
  • A desktop or laptop with a reliable internet connection.

Helpful background

  • Familiarity with personalization concepts such as identifying incorrect personalization, poor inferences, and forced connections.
  • Experience providing constructive feedback and producing detailed annotations or evaluation notes.

Commitment, schedule, and next steps

This engagement runs for 3 months. Expected minimum time commitment is 20+ hours per week, with flexibility up to 40 hours/week. You should be available at least 4 hours per day and able to overlap four hours with Pacific Standard Time (PST).

  • Apply with your OpenTrain profile — create an account for free and complete your language and experience details.
  • If selected, you'll receive instructions for the evaluation tasks and data-hygiene procedures.
  • Work is paid hourly at $15.00 USD; exact scheduling is coordinated during onboarding.
