About OpenTrain

OpenTrain is the #1 platform for finding and building careers in AI training and data labeling. We connect experienced technical contributors with projects that teach AI systems how to code, reason, and follow best practices.

Work with OpenTrain to shape how modern AI models learn from human examples, build a portfolio of AI-training work, and take flexible, remote contractor roles that pay by the hour.

About AI training work in software

AI training (data labeling / annotation) is the human side of model development: people review, correct, and explain AI outputs so models improve over time. In coding-focused projects, contributors inspect generated code, fix bugs, and document why changes were made.

This role is part of that process: your corrections and explanations will directly improve how code-generation models write Godot/GDScript and related engine patterns.

The role

You will act as a GDScript Subject Matter Expert (SME) contributing to AI training datasets by reviewing, debugging, correcting, and annotating AI-generated code. Deliverables must be precise, well-documented, and follow Godot and industry best practices.

This is a remote, part-time contractor role for candidates located in India. Compensation is USD 20 per hour and the project expects approximately 20+ hours per week (final exact commitment will be agreed during interview).

What you'll do

Perform careful, line-by-line reviews of AI-generated GDScript and Godot code examples. Identify bugs, logic errors, performance issues, and anti-patterns.

Correct code to meet industry and engine best practices, and produce clear, teachable explanations for each correction so models learn the rationale behind changes.

  • Review and debug GDScript produced by AI models.
  • Provide corrected code that runs in Godot and follows engine conventions.
  • Write concise, explanatory annotations describing each fix and the reason it improves the code.
  • Validate usage of Godot features (Node systems, RigidBody, KinematicBody) and related engine APIs.
  • Rate code quality and annotate evaluation/rating fields as required by the labeling schema.

Requirements

Candidates must meet every substantive requirement listed below; we will verify skills during a live coding test and interview.

This role requires independence, analytical precision, and a strong commitment to quality.

  • 7+ years of professional software development experience with extensive hands-on GDScript work.
  • Deep understanding of Godot Engine concepts and GDScript (experience with C# or C++ is acceptable as supplementary knowledge, but GDScript expertise is mandatory).
  • Practical experience with Godot Node systems and physics bodies (RigidBody, KinematicBody).
  • C1 level English proficiency (spoken and written) to produce clear explanations and documentation.
  • Located in India and able to work as a contractor on a part-time schedule (~20+ hours/week).
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to deliver high-quality work with minimal supervision.

Interview & assessment process

At the start of the interview you will undergo a coding/skill test and a live interview; passing both is required for hire. If you are dishonest at any point in the interview, you will be permanently banned from the OpenTrain AI platform.

During the interview and in the AI interview summary we will record answers to the following questions — be prepared to provide them clearly and truthfully: highest level of education; exact years of experience with GDScript; and the exact number of hours per week you can commit (please give a specific number or a narrow range, e.g., "20-25 hours per week").

  • You must provide real-world examples of GDScript projects you've built (links, code samples, or descriptions).
  • Live coding task will test debugging, problem solving, and ability to explain fixes.
  • Interviewers will include your three required answers in the official AI interview summary.

How to apply

Prepare a concise application that includes: a short CV, clear examples of GDScript work (links or pasted snippets), and a brief statement of why you are a good fit for AI-training work.

In your initial submission, note your availability in exact hours per week and confirm you are located in India and meet C1 English proficiency.

  • Applications without GDScript examples or without a stated exact weekly-hours commitment may not be considered.
  • This role is contracted and part-time; compensation is USD 20/hour as stated.
