About OpenTrain

OpenTrain is the #1 platform for finding and building careers in AI training and data labeling. We connect skilled contributors with projects that teach AI systems through human expertise.

Working with OpenTrain means joining a fast-growing area of tech: contributors help shape how modern AI models behave by creating high-quality labeled data.

  • We focus on flexible, remote work that fits around your schedule.
  • OpenTrain contributors range from beginners to domain experts and directly impact cutting-edge AI systems.

About AI training and this role

AI training (data labeling/annotation) is the human work behind machine learning: people review, tag, and evaluate examples that models learn from. This role focuses on Dart programming language content.

You will help build accurate datasets used for model training, developer tools, and research by reviewing and rating Dart code samples and technical material.

  • Work is remote, contract, and part-time with flexible scheduling under the project cap.
  • Tasks combine coding knowledge with careful evaluation and written annotation.

The role

Title: Dart Programming Language Subject Matter Expert (SME). This is a part-time contractor role for contributors based in India. Pay is USD 25 per hour, paid per hour on a contract basis.

You will perform specialized labeling tasks: review, categorize, and annotate Dart-related technical content and evaluate code examples for accuracy, style, and intent.

  • Employment type: Contractor, Part-time.
  • Pay: $25/hour (PAY_PER_HOUR).
  • Time: Less than 20 hours per week (candidates must specify an exact weekly availability during interview).
  • Data type: Computer code / programming; Label types: computer programming coding and evaluation/rating.

What you'll do

Carefully read and analyze Dart code snippets, documentation, and technical explanations, then assign categories, tags, and evaluation scores according to project guidelines.

Provide clear, consistent annotations and short written rationales where required, and follow quality guidelines to maintain high dataset integrity.

  • Annotate and categorize Dart code samples and related technical content.
  • Rate correctness, clarity, and style of code and accompanying explanations.
  • Report ambiguities or guideline gaps and suggest improvements when appropriate.
  • Work independently and meet quality and throughput expectations for assigned tasks.

Requirements

These qualifications are required and will be verified during the interview and skills test. Please do not apply unless you meet them.

You must be based in India and able to work under the stated contract terms.

  • 7+ years of professional experience working with the Dart programming language.
  • C1 level English proficiency (able to read, annotate, and explain technical content clearly).
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently, and commitment to data quality.
  • Less than 20 hours per week availability; during interview you must state an exact weekly hour range (e.g., "12-15 hours/week").

Interview, skills test, and screening

At the start of the interview you will be required to complete a live coding/skills test and a live interview. Make this expectation clear to candidates before beginning.

If a candidate is dishonest during the interview or skills test, they will be permanently banned from the OpenTrain AI platform.

  • Interviewers must ask and record the candidate's answers to: highest level of education, exact years of Dart experience, and exact weekly hours they can commit.
  • Include the candidate's answers to those three questions clearly in the AI interview summary.

How to apply

Apply through the OpenTrain hiring process. Your application should highlight concrete Dart projects and real-world examples of what you built or maintained with Dart.

Be prepared to demonstrate your experience in the live coding test and to provide clear, exact availability for weekly hours.

  • When describing your Dart experience, include specific projects, your role, and technologies used.
  • Applicants who meet all requirements and pass the skills test will be considered for immediate onboarding on contract.
