The Role

OpenTrain AI is seeking a contract Frontend UI Engineer to create polished, usable, and accessible interfaces across platforms and devices. This role combines hands-on frontend development with thoughtful review of interface quality, performance, consistency, and end-user experience.

You will translate product needs into responsive experiences while collaborating with product, design, and backend partners. The role is listed at entry level, with demonstrated expertise in UI design principles and frontend development required.

What You'll Do

• Design and develop user interfaces with strong usability and accessibility

Required Skills

Applicants should bring strong frontend fundamentals, careful attention to detail, and the ability to communicate technical decisions clearly. Pixel-level execution and empathy for end users are central to the role.

• Demonstrated expertise in UI design principles and frontend development
• Hands-on experience with React, Vue, Angular, or another modern frontend framework
• Strong command of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and component-based architecture
• Practical judgment around accessibility, responsive design, usability, and performance
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote, distributed environment
• Ability to explain technical decisions to technical and non-technical collaborators

Helpful Background

Experience with UI animation, micro-interactions, design systems, accessible digital products, inclusive design, or cross-functional remote teams is helpful. Familiarity with the wider AI training context is not required, making this an opportunity for frontend professionals to contribute their domain expertise to AI work.
