About AI Training Work

AI training is the human side of building artificial intelligence. Experts review examples, evaluate model outputs, write high-quality responses, and provide structured feedback so AI systems can learn to reason and perform more effectively.

In this project, your frontend engineering judgment and written communication will contribute expert input for AI systems working with real-world software engineering tasks. No prior AI experience is required; your domain expertise is the foundation of the work.

  • Help shape how next-generation AI models learn and reason
  • Apply professional frontend engineering knowledge to evaluation and writing tasks
  • Work remotely with flexible contractor project structure

The Role

OpenTrain AI is seeking a Frontend Engineer specializing in technical reasoning and written communication. You will analyze frontend engineering decisions, assess implementation approaches, and clearly explain architectural choices through precise, well-structured written output.

The role combines advanced frontend development knowledge with evaluation rating, technical documentation, and constructive feedback. Strong English communication is essential, and the project is designed for contributors with substantial practical experience in modern frontend engineering.

  • Role type: Contractor
  • Location: Remote, worldwide
  • Experience level: Intermediate
  • Working language: English
  • Project duration: Expected to run for 3 to 6 months

What You'll Do

You will contribute expert-level input to AI training tasks focused on frontend software engineering. Your work will require both technical depth and the ability to communicate sophisticated concepts to varied audiences.

Assignments may involve evaluating frontend approaches, generating written technical explanations, and participating in simulated engineering discussions. Feedback should be clear, contextual, actionable, and grounded in real-world engineering practice.

  • Analyze frontend engineering decisions and explain the rationale behind technical approaches
  • Evaluate and critique code samples, component architectures, and state management solutions
  • Write RFCs, ADRs, design notes, and other technically rigorous documentation
  • Explain performance optimization, accessibility, and SSR, CSR, and SSG rendering strategies
  • Participate in code review simulations and synthesize insights into constructive commentary
  • Complete evaluation rating and text generation tasks for AI training

Requirements and Preferred Qualifications

This opportunity is intended for frontend software engineers who can combine strong implementation knowledge with exceptional written English communication. The listed experience is preferred, while the role specifically values practical expertise, technical reasoning, and the ability to produce clear documentation and feedback.

  • Knowledge of modern HTML and CSS practices
  • Expertise in component architecture and state management patterns
  • Understanding of frontend performance optimization
  • Familiarity with accessibility and inclusive web development practices
  • Experience with server-side, client-side, and static site rendering strategies
  • Ability to write RFCs, ADRs, design notes, and rigorous code review feedback
  • Exceptional written English communication skills
  • Comfort working in English with fluent English proficiency
  • Background with leading technology organizations or top academic institutions is a plus

Who Should Apply

Apply if you are a frontend engineer who enjoys examining how software is designed and explaining why one approach is stronger than another. This project is especially suited to contributors who can move comfortably between code review, architecture, performance, accessibility, rendering strategy, and technical writing.

You do not need previous AI industry experience. Your frontend software engineering subject matter expertise, evaluation judgment, and ability to express complex reasoning clearly are the most important contributions.

  • Frontend engineers with strong JavaScript, TypeScript, and React experience
  • Technical writers and reviewers who can document architectural decisions precisely
  • Engineers comfortable evaluating code and providing structured written feedback
  • Contributors interested in applying software expertise to AI training
