About OpenTrain
OpenTrain is the #1 platform for people building careers in AI training and data labeling. We help contributors discover projects, build a profile, and apply to work that trains real AI systems. Creating an OpenTrain account is free.
Why AI Training Work Matters
AI training is the human side of building intelligent systems: people annotate images and web content, create Q&A pairs, edit code examples, and review model outputs so models learn accurate and safe behavior. This work is remote, flexible, and a fast-growing way to get involved in AI.
- Work 100% remotely from France with flexible hours.
- Entry to specialist roles: this project blends frontend skill with annotation work.
- Contributors directly shape how web-focused AI systems behave.
The Role
We are seeking frontend developers based in France who are native French speakers to join an ongoing AI training project. You will analyze website screenshots, create precise annotations and question-and-answer pairs, and propose or implement HTML/CSS/JS improvements so web content meets specified requirements.
This is a contract, part-time role with a required minimum commitment and an immediate start date.
- Employment type: Contractor, Part-time.
- Start date: Must be available to start on August 12 (project is ongoing and requires immediate start).
- Pay: USD $20.50 per hour.
- Labeling focus: code-oriented annotation and editing of web content (computer code/programming).
- A coding skills test is required during the selection process.
What You'll Do
Day-to-day work blends web development and data-labeling tasks. You will inspect web page screenshots, identify elements and errors, produce detailed annotations, draft Q&A pairs to train models, and edit or suggest fixes to HTML/CSS/JavaScript to meet project specs.
- Analyze web elements and structure from screenshots and produce accurate labels/annotations.
- Create high-quality question-and-answer pairs in French to support training data.
- Edit or improve HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code to fix layout, behavior, or accessibility issues.
- Document issues and solutions clearly so annotations and code changes are reproducible.
Requirements
You must be located in France and be a native French speaker. The role lists as entry-level in AI training but requires professional experience with frontend technologies.
The client requires immediate availability and a minimum weekly commitment; please read the time expectations carefully.
- Location & language: Native French speaker based in France (required).
- Technical experience: Minimum of 2 years professional experience working with each of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Analytical skills: Strong attention to detail for labeling and troubleshooting web content.
- Problem solving & editing: Able to identify errors and implement practical HTML/CSS/JS fixes.
- Time commitment: Able to commit at least 15 hours per week (preference for applicants who can commit more hours—client may prefer 25+ hours). Note: the role is categorized as less than 20 hours/week on the listing.
- Availability: Must be able to start on August 12 and join immediately.
- Assessment: Successful applicants must pass a coding skills test.
- Experience preferred: Previous AI training/data-labeling experience on platforms such as Scale AI, OpenTrain, OpenTrain AI, Appen, or similar is highly preferred.
Who Should Apply
Apply if you are a frontend developer fluent in French, based in France, enjoy precise work, and are comfortable switching between coding and annotation tasks. This is a good fit for developers who want flexible, remote, part-time contract work that contributes directly to training AI systems.
- Frontend developers with strong HTML/CSS/JS skills and an eye for detail.
- People who can write and review technical content in French and produce clear annotations.
- Contractors seeking part-time, remote work with immediate start.
