About OpenTrain

OpenTrain (opentrain.ai) is the #1 platform for finding and building careers in AI training and data labeling. We hire and contract contributors to produce the human-created examples that modern AI systems learn from, and we support contributors as they grow technical skills and long-term earning potential.

About AI Training Work

AI training (data labeling/data annotation) is the human side of building intelligent systems: people analyze content, create annotations, rate outputs, and correct code or text so models learn the right behaviors. This work is often remote, flexible, and accessible to people with web and language skills.

Contributors get to shape how AI understands web content, and many projects are a great way to apply frontend skills in short, focused contracts while building experience in an emerging field.

The Role

OpenTrain AI seeks skilled frontend developers based in Germany to join an ongoing AI training project. You will analyze website screenshots and produce detailed annotations, question-and-answer pairs, and targeted HTML/CSS/JS code edits to meet specified requirements.

This is a part-time contractor role. You must be a native German speaker residing in Germany, available to start on August 12, and able to commit at least 15 hours per week (preference for 25+ hours). A coding skills test is required as part of selection.

  • Pay: $25 USD per hour (hourly contractor)
  • Schedule: Minimum 15 hours/week; flexible hours, preference for 25+ hrs
  • Start date: Must be available to begin on August 12
  • Location: Must reside in Germany and be a native German speaker
  • Selection: Coding skills test required

What You'll Do

  • Analyze web elements from screenshots and identify structure, styles, and behaviors.
  • Create detailed, high-quality annotations describing page elements, errors, and intended behavior.
  • Write question-and-answer pairs (in German) that clarify content, intent, or required fixes.
  • Edit and improve HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to meet provided requirements and fix issues.
  • Suggest practical solutions for layout, accessibility, and functionality problems.
  • Document changes and follow project guidelines to ensure consistent labeling and code quality.

Requirements

  • Native German speaker living in Germany with excellent written German and ability to produce long-form content.
  • At least 2 years of professional experience working with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (please indicate years of experience for each).
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to accurately label and annotate web elements.
  • Practical web design knowledge and ability to make effective code edits and improvements.
  • Problem-solving skills to identify errors and propose feasible fixes.
  • Available to commit a minimum of 15 hours per week and start on August 12; flexible schedule is required.
  • Willingness to complete a coding skills test as part of the hiring process.
  • Previous experience with AI training or data-labeling projects is highly preferred (not required).

How It Works / Application

This is a contractor, part-time engagement contracted by OpenTrain AI. Payment is hourly at $25 USD and work is tracked per project guidelines.

To apply, submit your OpenTrain profile indicating residency in Germany, your availability, and detailed years of experience in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Candidates who pass the screening will be asked to complete a coding skills test and confirm readiness to start on August 12.

  • Role type: Contractor / Part-time
  • Data type: Code-focused labeling and editing
  • Selection steps: profile review → coding skills test → onboarding and start on Aug 12
