About AI Training Work

AI training is the human side of building artificial intelligence. Contributors prepare and review examples that help systems understand language, audio, images, and other real-world information.

In this role, your French transcription work will help AI systems process spoken French more accurately, including conversations with accents, interruptions, background noise, and natural speech patterns.

The Role

OpenTrain is seeking a French Audio Transcriptionist to create accurate, detailed training data from real-world French conversations. You will listen closely to French-language recordings and convert spoken audio into written transcripts while preserving conversational nuance.

This is an entry-level, part-time contractor opportunity for contributors located in Morocco. The expected time commitment is 20 or more hours per week, with pay ranging from $10 to $35 per hour.

  • Apply conventions for non-verbal sounds, inaudible segments, and unclear audio.
  • Follow detailed transcription, style, and formatting guidelines consistently.
  • Maintain high accuracy while working independently on substantial audio volumes.

Requirements

You should have native-level or near-native French proficiency, excellent spelling and grammar, and strong listening skills. Success in this role requires close attention to subtle audio details and a methodical approach to detailed guidelines.

Helpful Background

Professional transcription experience is helpful but not required. Experience in another precision-focused role may also prepare you for this work.
