The Role

OpenTrain AI is seeking a French Audio Transcriptionist based in Belgium to produce highly accurate transcriptions of spoken French audio for AI training. Recordings may include multiple speakers, overlapping speech, background noise, filled pauses, natural disfluencies, and Belgian French nuances.

This is a fully remote, flexible hourly contract for a part-time workload of 20 or more hours per week. The role is suitable for entry-level applicants and does not require previous AI experience.

What You'll Do

You will listen carefully to French-language recordings and create detailed transcripts while applying established formatting and transcription conventions. Consistency, accuracy, and careful handling of difficult audio are essential.

• Transcribe spoken French audio accurately and in detail
• Handle background noise, low-quality audio, accents, crosstalk, and overlapping speakers
• Identify and distinguish multiple speakers throughout each recording
• Follow detailed style guides and formatting requirements
• Mark non-verbal sounds, inaudible segments, and spoken disfluencies
• Maintain quality and accuracy across large volumes of audio
• Work independently and asynchronously on your own schedule

Requirements

Applicants should have native or near-native French fluency, strong written French, and the ability to hear and represent subtle details in spoken audio. Familiarity with Belgian French phonology and vocabulary is preferred.

You should be comfortable working with imperfect recordings and applying detailed rules consistently. Reliability, self-motivation, and a methodical approach are important for succeeding in an independent contract role.
