About this role
OpenTrain is recruiting a FreeCAD Mechanical CAD Task Executor to support AI training data work involving practical parametric modeling and automated CAD verification. You will create and inspect accurate 3D parts and technical drawings, record human execution trajectories, assess whether design briefs are solvable, and identify edge cases that affect technical grading.

What you will do
You will execute multi-step parametric CAD tasks in FreeCAD using remote Ubuntu or Linux desktop environments. You will record clean demonstrations that capture mouse actions, sketch constraints, dimensions, and input parameters. You will identify ambiguous design briefs, under-constrained sketches, missing library models, and FreeCAD stability issues. You will also test alternative valid modeling paths and verify that automated grading scripts accept technically correct designs. Your work may involve Part Design, Sketcher, TechDraw, Assembly, and STEP or IGES export.

Required skills
You should have practical experience using FreeCAD for 3D part modeling and technical drawing, along with a strong understanding of parametric CAD workflows, sketches, constraints, dimensions, and assemblies. You should be able to navigate CAD software efficiently, troubleshoot sketch constraints, maintain dimensional accuracy, and communicate clearly in written English when preparing execution logs and solvability feedback. Experience with remote Linux desktop environments, including noVNC or VNC, and with CAD quality assurance, technical testing, or design benchmarking is beneficial.

Schedule and pay
This is a remote contractor engagement lasting 5 weeks, with potential for extension. Tasks have an average handling time of approximately 60 minutes, and payment is provided per completed task.
