The Role

OpenTrain AI is seeking a Financial Statement and Accounting Data Reviewer to evaluate financial documentation and accounting processes for AI training. You will apply professional knowledge of accounting, auditing, taxation, economics, law, and government regulations to financial datasets and clearly document your findings.

What You'll Do

You will examine, analyze, and interpret accounting records used to prepare or audit financial statements. You will also assess materials prepared by others and communicate technical conclusions to varied audiences.

  • Evaluate financial statements for accuracy, regulatory compliance, and sound accounting practices
  • Provide expert guidance on financial reporting, compliance, taxation, accounting principles, cost accounting, and budgetary controls
  • Review or advise on systems used to record costs and budgetary data
  • Apply accounting, economic, legal, regulatory, and taxation knowledge to financial AI training datasets
  • Document findings clearly and explain complex accounting concepts in writing and conversation

Requirements and Helpful Background

This opportunity is listed at the entry level, but it requires substantive professional accounting or audit expertise. A bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field is required, along with experience preparing and auditing financial statements.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, taxation, and regulatory compliance
  • In-depth understanding of accounting, economics, law, and government regulations
  • Knowledge of cost accounting, budgetary controls, and financial systems
  • Careful attention to data accuracy and regulatory compliance
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical subject matter
  • Professional experience as a Certified Public Accountant, Cost Accountant, Financial Auditor, General Accountant, Internal Auditor, or Revenue Tax Specialist
  • CPA, CMA, CIA, or equivalent accounting experience is valuable
  • Experience advising on or implementing financial systems and controls is helpful
