The Role
OpenTrain AI is seeking senior accounting professionals to build evaluation tasks for AI systems working in financial reporting, audit, and technical accounting. You will design realistic accounting scenarios, prepare reference outputs, and write rubrics that distinguish authentic professional judgment from generic textbook knowledge or CPA exam-level recall.
The work covers two standards tracks: US GAAP/PCAOB and IFRS/ISA. Assignments may span financial statement preparation, technical accounting research, audit and assurance, complex transaction accounting, and internal controls and SOX compliance.
Pay: $70–$80 per hour
Time commitment: 20+ hours per week
Engagement: Part-time contractor
Language: English
Work location: Worldwide and remote
What You'll Do
You will create expert-level evaluation content that reflects the decisions, documentation, and standards used by senior accountants, controllers, auditors, and technical accounting professionals.
Construct scenarios covering financial statement preparation, technical accounting research, external and internal audit processes, and complex transaction accounting.
Build tasks across financial reporting, technical accounting and research, audit and assurance, complex transaction accounting, and internal controls and SOX compliance.
Develop scenarios involving ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle, consolidation software, audit management platforms, and research tools such as Bloomberg Tax and RIA Checkpoint.
Apply revenue recognition, lease accounting, and consolidation methodologies to the relevant standards track.
Produce reference financial statements, technical accounting memos, audit workpapers, and internal control assessments.
Author rubrics that evaluate genuine accounting judgment rather than generic recall.
Requirements
This role is designed for experienced accounting and audit professionals with direct responsibility for complex financial reporting or assurance work. The structured listing identifies the engagement as entry level, but the role description requires senior-level professional experience.
5+ years of experience as an accountant, controller, or audit partner at a major accounting firm or corporation.
Experience at a Big Four firm or in a corporate controller or CFO environment.
Direct ownership of financial reporting, audit engagements, or technical accounting matters.
Fluency with accounting tooling, including ERP systems, consolidation software, and audit management platforms.
Understanding of regulatory reporting, including SEC filings, and applicable audit standards.
CPA, ACCA, or CA credential strongly preferred.
Prior experience authoring rubrics or training materials for AI evaluation is helpful.
Why This Work Matters
