About AI training work
AI training (also called data labeling, annotation, or human feedback) is the human side of building intelligent systems. Contributors prepare and evaluate examples that teach models to understand finance, language, images, audio, and more.
This role focuses on training and evaluating generative models and internal AI tools: you will write rubrics, rate model outputs (RLHF / evaluation rating), and provide subject-matter expertise that improves model accuracy and business outcomes.
The role
We are recruiting a Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Expert to support AI training using financial analysis, model building, rubric creation, and review of financial reporting. You will work with financial and marketing datasets, develop forecasts and scenario analyses, refine model behavior with field knowledge, and advise on SaaS metrics and strategy.
This is a contract, part-time role that requires significant hands-on FP&A skills and the ability to translate finance expertise into clear evaluation criteria for AI systems.
Time commitment: 20+ hours per week
Employment type: Contractor, Part-time
Location: Remote — worldwide applicants accepted
Language: English required
Pay: Hourly, $35–$58/hr (top rate $58/hr)
What you'll do
Analyze complex financial and marketing datasets to produce actionable business intelligence and clear evaluation guidance for models.
Build, refine, and implement financial models, forecasts, and scenario analyses that train model reasoning on finance topics.
Create rubrics and labeling guidelines using financial expertise to improve model outputs and evaluator consistency.
Prepare, review, and optimize financial reporting under US GAAP and IFRS to ground model examples in accurate accounting practice.
Support strategic planning, compliance, internal controls, and decision-making by providing annotated examples and evaluation ratings.
Advise on SaaS metrics including ARR, MRR, CAC, and LTV and translate those metrics into measurable labeling tasks.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in finance, accounting, FP&A, audit, or SaaS finance.
Hands-on experience with financial modeling, forecasting, and scenario analysis.
Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS financial reporting and best practices.
Demonstrated understanding of SaaS metrics and performance analytics (ARR, MRR, CAC, LTV).
Strong written and verbal communication skills for writing rubrics and reviewer guidance.
Preferred: investment banking experience and advanced credentials such as CPA or CFA.
Who should apply
This role is a fit for mid-level finance professionals who want flexible, remote contract work and are excited to apply domain expertise to improving AI. If you enjoy translating complex financial concepts into clear rules, examples, and evaluation criteria, you’ll thrive here.
No prior annotation platform experience is required — we value subject-matter expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate standards clearly.
