About AI training and why this role matters
AI training (data labeling and human evaluation) is the human side of building modern AI: people prepare, review, and judge examples that models learn from. High-quality evaluation depends on tasks that reflect genuine professional practice, not just plausible-sounding prompts.
As a Finance Workflow Realism Reviewer you will ensure that finance tasks, workflows, and constraints measure meaningful finance capability — improving the rigor and reliability of evaluation data used to train and refine generative models.
The role
You will review finance tasks and workflows for realism, clarity, scope, and internal consistency, then write concise, structured feedback and recommendations. This is RLHF-style evaluation work: you assess whether prompts and task descriptions match how finance professionals actually work.
Work is remote, contract, part-time, and paid hourly. Expect to spend at least 20 hours per week on this project.
Role title: Finance Workflow Realism Reviewer
Work type: Contractor, Part-time
Time commitment: 20+ hours/week
What you will do
Your primary responsibilities center on evaluating task descriptions, identifying gaps or unrealistic assumptions, and producing clear, actionable feedback that improves task realism and signal quality.
Review finance task inputs, context, expected workflow, constraints, and edge cases for realism and internal consistency.
Judge whether the described process matches real-world finance practice and business constraints.
Identify missing assumptions, ambiguous instructions, unsupported requirements, or impractical constraints.
Flag tasks that are too broad, too generic, or unlikely to produce meaningful signals of finance capability.
Write concise, structured feedback with targeted recommendations to improve task realism and clarity.
Requirements
This is an expert-level role. You must demonstrate direct, relevant finance experience and the ability to explain why a workflow is or is not realistic in clear written feedback.
Relevant experience in FP&A, strategic finance, RevOps, business intelligence, controllership, accounting, or a closely related finance role.
Strong financial modeling, management reporting, planning, controls, and business-partnering skills.
Excellent written communication and the ability to produce clear explanatory judgment.
High attention to detail and comfort evaluating work against explicit standards.
Experience reviewing analysts, approving work, designing controls, or setting quality standards is especially valuable.
CPA certification strongly preferred for accounting and controllership-focused reviews.
Compensation, language & location

Who should apply
Apply if you are an experienced finance professional who regularly designs, executes, reviews, or controls finance workflows and can explain professional practice clearly in writing.
This is a strong fit for senior FP&A analysts, finance managers, controllers, RevOps leads, business intelligence leaders, and accountants (CPA preferred for accounting/control tasks).
You enjoy judging work quality and writing concise, constructive feedback.
You are comfortable making judgment calls about scope, feasibility, and real-world constraints.
You want flexible, remote, part-time contractual work that directly impacts AI evaluation quality.
Review AI-generated patient financial communications and payment recommendations to ensure accuracy, compliance, and effective revenue recovery. Remote, contractor role at $92/hr for US-based candidates with 5+ years in patient collections and leadership experience.
Create realistic business documents and evaluate AI-generated responses to improve how models handle professional scenarios; remote contractor role paying $35–$50/hr with a ~20+ hour/week commitment.
